PAYDAY 2

There are some elitist arses who play this game came across a pair who were just abusive god knows why I ignored them and continued to play on. Finished the big bank and as we were waiting for the game to end he kicks me and another guy off with one final insult.

Been trying to work out how you get Deathwish difficulty missions. Do they unlock at level 80 going by two posts in this thread?

There's a photo of when that guy was cheating, lol:

Got 135k experience from one job on trustee bank the other day, without anyone cheating.

As I'm playing this mainly solo I wanted maximum opening ability so have gone ghost/technician build, but really fed up of the drills being rubbish.

Now considering getting ghost tree Lockpicking Expert and technician tree first level of Silent Drilling for the rare Titan safes. So can eventually get shaped charges for the transport heists. But is this wasting points as semi duplicating?

I like Lockpicking Expert, but because you can't open van doors, vaults, security doors/barriers and the odd random door with it I'd say I probably get more use from the skill on the same tier which lets you open security doors with ECMs.

I don't have the others but in hindsight I'd probably try for drilling first and leave the safe picking until near the end. Doesn't help they're all fairly high tier and will need a boatload of skill points at the base of the tree first: if you're soloing the XP grind gets really hard!

From tiers I would say the most useful skills are:-

Mastermind
Being able to get people up without getting hit yourself is so useful
  • Inspire
  • Cable Guy
  • Endurance
Enforcer
A Saw is really useful for Overkill and Death Wish level
  • Portable Saw
  • Transporter
  • Ammo Specialist
Technician
A drill is useful early on for the bank jobs and later for maps like Firestarter
Shaped charge is so important for getting in and out of some of the harder maps FAST
  • Shaped Charge
  • Silent Drilling
Ghost
ECM is always useful at any level
Lock pick is good for mid level maps (mostly for getting through those doors)
  • ECM Overdrive
  • Shinobi
  • Lock picking expert
  • Cleaner

ECM overdrive is invaluable for the bank hiests. Saves the uncertainty of whether the keycard is with the BM or on his desk.

I went mastermind/enforcer, but am nearly at 100 so am adding some ghost skills. Shinobi is very handy to help speed up bag carrying when you have heavy items and armour slowing you down.

My Everest is doing framing frame pro job on deathwish. It seems virtually impossible to nail it first time.

I have never once gotten gold out of that vault on any difficulty. It's a pain in the backside!

We have yet to stealth Day 3 of Framing Frame on overkill period. It always goes loud and ends up in a mad marathon gunfight in that apartment.

Me and my crew have begun doing deathwish levels in our early 80's. We're stealthing like crazy wherever we can because when we tried Rats Day 1 last night on DW - 2 skull dozers, and 2 shields were upstairs with us within a minute of the map starting LOL. We bit the dust fast!

When you get to level 80, it is usually all about the XP rather than the money, so on Rats I tend to just burn it, hide in either the bathroom or the basement and then just leg it as soon as the truck arrives.

As long as one person makes it, you are okay.

The rest of Rats is quite easy, just split into two teams to go hunting for the info and then on day 3 either rush it or just sit back with snipers and shoot the heck out of the truck to kill the 'rats' at a distance.

After that you just escape on the chopper.

Which I think is one of the bigger flaws with the game: the start is exciting and fun as you try new strategies, get new equipment and try out new skills, but then it just becomes an XP grind where you forget about everything and just try to get in and out as fast as possible to get as much XP as fast as possible. I think they need to work on the end game a bit more. It doesn't help that some of the one day missions end up giving so little XP that they're not really worth bothering with. Someone on Reddit said that when they start playing these days the first thing they agree on is whether they're going to spend the night playing for fun or for XP, and it's not good when you have to choose between them.

Completely agree with you Art. Me and my crew haven't really played long and we're at Lv80 now with 118hrs. We play for fun mostly but at this point its about XP earned for me and not to waste too much time.

As you hit the higher levels, it becomes clear that the 1 Day jobs just aren't even worth it and that they're there just to break things up a bit. Most players end up doing Rats, Firestarter or Framing Frame because that is where the XP/Money really is. I would add Big Oil to that list too.

I also feel that the guys are becoming bored of the same old maps. Whilst there are a lot of random factors going on in any game to keep things fresh, the maps do get stale after a while. It'd be great if Overkill stopped pumping out DLC and looked at providing more missions. We finally stealthed Go Bank (overkill) last night and the feeling of completion was amazing! :D
