PAYDAY 2

ECM overdrive is invaluable for the bank hiests. Saves the uncertainty of whether the keycard is with the BM or on his desk.

I went mastermind/enforcer, but am nearly at 100 so am adding some ghost skills. Shinobi is very handy to help speed up bag carrying when you have heavy items and armour slowing you down.

My Everest is doing framing frame pro job on deathwish. It seems virtually impossible to nail it first time.

Man we were trying that last night with Kyle, Me, AJ and Pinkz. After about we aced the first 2 levels and it was only on day 3 we kept getting crappy vault locations and screwing up.
Gonna be on tonight if you're about?

Greetings fellow PAYDAY 2 players :D Thought there would be a thread for it around here somewhere

Picked up the game on some friend's recommendations and really enjoying it. I too am at around level 85 trying to push towards Infamy and I agree it does start to feel like a bit of a grind

Best strategy in my opinion is to try and forget about the endless quest to level-up all the time and accept that you'll get there in the end. At the moment I've been focusing on trying to get all the difficulty masks - which sometimes means going for jobs with poor XP return but hey it's still a challenge

Lv81 now and I'm getting my fun by gunning for the achievements as some offer quite decent rewards and weapon mods. I optimised my skills setup last night dropping some stuff from the enforcer tree such as Fully Loaded Ace and 200% ammunition bags. I then shoved those points into the Ghost tree acing Fast Hands, and Shinobi. Also shoved a point into Chemelean for casing guards/cameras. Turned out to be a brilliant move!

Yeah, having a balanced build is really important. Some skills like inspire are just must-haves for loud missions, but you also need shinobi to move heavy bags quickly if you ever want to do firestarter on DW.

My build at the moment is pretty much a full on Mastermind... I think the only things I have from other trees are the aced one from Enforcer that lets you carry + throw bags more quickly, the aced sprinting one from Ghost and a single level of the one in Technician that reduces damage taken while interacting with things.

Everything else is in Mastermind so I have aced Joker + Dominate, Inspire, Spotter, the various Pistol enhancing ones.

Once I go Infamous I think my rebuild is likely to be a little more balanced - possibly dropping some of the pistol stuff from Mastermind and picking up quite a bit from enforcer, not sure though

Once you go infamous you can drop Quick or Fast learner too, the skill that grants you extra XP if you have it that is.

The mastermind skill that lets you res down team members by shouting at them is simply awesome :D I am a TechForcer but find that a lot of of the Technician tree is a bit poor. I wish Overkill would buff up Sentries already as you have to invest a ton of points into them to make them remotely useful.

Yep - Inspire is the shout-revive skill and it goes without saying it's saved many a heist for us at least...

The reason I was thinking of trying to get some stuff from Enoforcer as well is under the assumption that by allowing me to stay alive a little bit better I can keep reviving people for longer XD

Lots of good stuff in enforcer. I went as far as getting the saw and inspire I each tree and invested the minimum points to do that. The only other skills I want are safe picking, ecm overdrive and fast/quiet drilling. So yeah, all of them lol

Does Shinobi 'stack' with Transporter? or is it just a more beneficial purchase to gain access to the higher items?

I havent played it much lately, im mainly focused on Tech for the drilling, as it seemed to be one of the objectives required in most of the missions we'd do, but im not so sure any more, what with all the new maps and balancing.
More often than not im playing solo too, never been interested in joining a public game, and even when ive tried organising an evening of PD2 with BF clanmates, its been pretty unsuccessful.

I've been planning on giving the PD2 evening another crack, though only 2 of us are reasonably ranked (im Lv72, mate is 50-60s) other 2 are probably in 20s from us running them through missions, and i dont think they've ever played it otherwise.
What sort of builds would be beneficial now, if i was to completely respec?

I also watched a stream of the guy who made HoxHud, and he seemed to be able to switch between builds. Is that something each tier of Infamous unlocks, or was that a modification?

I would guess either he has duplicate accounts or he has so much money that it isn't a big deal for him to respec everything

Definitely try to give the coop play a go - the game really shines when its a group of you communicating properly

You get refunded when you respec so there is no penalty.

I will occasionally respec so that we have c4 for the missions that require it, otherwise tech skills are a waste of time.

Why would you drop fast learner?

My planned build for infamy 1

Most gamers use it to assist them getting to 100 and then use those points elsewhere afterwards basically.

Hit I-84 last night as 2 of my crew basically solo'd most of Shadow Raid on Overkill whilst I shuttled the loot to the van due to my higher detection rate being useless on the map (TechForcer). The xp rewards were insane though 540k! Got two achievements too for that map. Had a few hairy moments when we fell off the ladder securing the last bit of loot :D

That is part of HoxHud. The mod features a 'Skill Profiler', which enables you to have profiles for different skill builds. Applying different profiles is obviously the same as respeccing your char - just done much, much faster and with the monetary costs attached too.

I'm techforcer as well dude, you can easily do shadow raid.
I've done it loads of times with Devrij and that's on Deathwish.

Dev you don't get all your money refunded when you respec.

Hmm I'll help out more then next time we do it. I can get my detection down to 23 max so far and thats me carrying a highly concealed Car4 and a Interceptor pistol. The others have rates of around 3. Got to learn the map at some point I suppose!
