Definitely. It's probably my most played game last year and it takes a lot to pull me into something.

Now that I've had a go I'd say it doesn't just "not really add much" but is almost a major negative...
Only 10 of the 20 new levels actually even give you new masks/skins (the other 10 are purely a % XP boost, but are placed on the unlock grid/tree in such a way that some of the actual mask/skin unlocks aren't accessible without them (i.e. just adding extra grind for the sake of it))...
Plus even the 10 levels which do give you something it's just a % XP boost and masks/skins (rather than the normal lowering of the tier-unlock cap) I can understand they don't want people to have so much freedom in the skill trees but it's just a bit disappointing... The only difference between a Infamous V and an Infamous XXV is they gain XP they can't even use faster and have 10 extra masks + skins
What's the new car heist like? Anyone played it yet?
Infuriating in public games, I stealthed the entire thing right up to the cars and got to the escape point with 10 seconds to spare... Where were the other 3 players? Bout 400m away stationary in the tunnels...

That's the biggest I come across with the XP boosts. I always seem to reach level 100 without having the offshore cash to infamy despite rarely actually spending it on anything. It's sucky to see all that XP go to waste.
I played it once so far, do the cops ever come? We messed around a while before finally going to the end point, but I never saw any real waves of police, just a few extras trotting around.

Debating whether to get this, it's not sale anymore though unfortunately, I need a break from L4D2!
Its more fun with friends, hit and miss with public players. You can find it fairly cheap from CD key sellers or key traders.
If you're in to the 'Zombie Apocalypse Survival' type of genre then look out for a game called OVERKILL'S The Walking Dead. It's made by the PAYDAY series developers and is due to release in 2016. I made a thread on it here.

Golden Grin should be exciting and my crew are returning back from retirement now as we haven't played Alesso Heist either. Don't really like the fact that Overkill are being a bit too greedy imo releasing single maps for around £5 and characters for a quid less. I know business is business but they're pushing it a bit far.

Haven't been back to PAYDAY 2 for ages, since around the time of the Diamond Heist stuff... Don't see myself ever going back to it to be honest; the developer have done a great job of making it feel like the cost to get back into it is going up and up and up

Yeah same. My crew retired after the diamond heist came out - it wasn't that fun compared to ones like Hoxton Breakout. I then decided to take a break after the Infamy update came out - it was a poor one and I couldn't see any incentive to go from Infamy 6 upwards really.
Absolutely excellent game and developer overall though, its just that there's too many bits of small individual dlc's now to keep track of.

I chose to get back into this at the wrong time, wish I did during the steam sale, would have gotten all the DLC, I did buy Miami Hotline 2 for Jacket though, I giggle like a little girl every time I make him speak xD
