PC and Console fan boys, Whats the deal ?

Also, to note, I bought an XB1 controller to use with my PC and ran a 10m HDMI cable to my TV and tried gaming over Steam but it just wasn't the same experience somehow

I think that depends what games you're playing really. When I got my new PC I bought a bluetooth receiver and use it to hook my PS3 controller up to the PC, had no problems playing Watch_Dogs, AC3, Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2, Skyrim, Witcher 2 and other similar "consoley" games. That way I get the best of both worlds - PC graphics and mod capability, low PC game prices, and able to chill out on the sofa while playing :p

Wouldn't dream of playing any online FPS or RTS that way though!

Only took 6 pages to turn in this......... well done take a bow all off you showing how grown up you all are Jesus lol who cares what people think buy what you want enjoy it end of, most people who play a lot of games has a pc and consoles so there shouldn't be much to moan about it hardly cost a lot of money in the grand scheme of things like houses and cars.

6 pages? WEAK

It's 3 pages for hardcore (PC owning) forum members. (need to change your posts/page setting :p )

It’s nice with console gaming not to have to worry about whether my kit will be able to play it, or play it well, or whether I will need to tweak settings, drivers, ini files, whatever…. I can just plonk a disc in and away I go (after an install).

Unfortunately, as consoles become more and more like fully fledged PCs, they also share the issues. The amount of console error codes, game crashes, network issues I've experienced over the last couple years, far outweighs the issues I've had on my gaming PC.

Also, if I do have an issue on PC, it can normally be fixed by a driver update etc. On console, you're stuffed until the devs kick out an update.

I see and enjoy the merits of both console and PC gaming though. Diablo 3 is far more enjoyable on PS4 leaning back on the sofa rather than hunched over my desk getting RSI from clicking everywhere :p

It's just hard to justify spending >£40 for a console game, that can look/play/run better on PC and can be had for £15.

E.g. Injustice: Gods Among Us - released on PS4 at full retail (~£45), when it could be had on PC for under a tenner.

It would be much better if there were actually a decent amount of console exclusives, but so many games are cross-platform nowadays, and even some Xbox One exclusives, have since come to PC (Ryse, Dead Rising 3).

I find it very hard to talk about anything to do with PC or console gaming in real life, because it just sounds so incredibly sad.
Yes I spend lots of time playing computer games, I might even engage in some light hearted debate on a forum, or discuss a game, or sometimes even have a bit of a rant.

Just not in public.

Describing talking to someone in person as "in real life" is part of the issue you've got there.

As a competitive multiplayer FPS/RTS/4X/MMO gamer there is no room for me on consoles.

A "gaming computer" only costs what you pay for the GPU, as you should already have a PC with a good processor and an SSD and a decent PSU etc...

But if you like something, than nothing is wrong with that, buy whatever, play on whatever, watch whatever. If someone asks for my opinion than rages, i mean on forums its one thing, but in real life.
Good is relative to what you need it for, also the word you're looking for is then, not than.

I can't stand fanboys at all. Most fanboys I know are Microsoft/Xbox and they annoy the hell out of me. Logic and reason is not accepted when in a conversation with them.

I started off with an Xbox 360, it was cheaper than the PS3 and most of my friends had one too.

I then wanted to build a gaming PC so that I could get the better graphics. I ended up playing PC for a couple of years but then grew extremely bored of it. I was constantly looking to get the best hardware and fiddling with settings. I also work at a PC all day so coming home to sit in front of a PC again soon lost its appeal.

I'm now back to consoles. Bought a PS4 because it seemed the more appealing of the two (cheaper, more powerful, not having MS trying to rape me etc). I think I made the right choice but tbh I would probably be saying the same thing if I had bought an Xbone.

At the end of the day it's all relative. Just play with what you enjoy.

Do you use the steam feature and run a HDMI cable to your TV or is there a better way of doing it?
