glad i didnt get dead island then,

gosh i need a game to play, diablo 3 got boring really quick and i only ever play online multiplayer! Right now im just stuck with Blacklight Retribution (Great game btw)
 
Ahhh. Piked up both FM2012 and Dead Island on offer. Nice price, but I'd be mighty surprised if I actually find the time to play them both.

Why can't I resist?

I can clearly no longer criticise my wife for being unable to resist household junk and knick-knacks that are on offer. This is quite clearly just my equivalent.

I am a sad, weak man... :(

Cheer up.

I buy things that I have no intention of playing. Not just that I won't get around to it, I actually have no intention of playing them. Unless a whim takes me.

Yet I still buy more and more, whenever there's an offer on...

We're both clearly insane.
 
Any difference from the Steam versions of Thief and the GoG versions?

I actually own all of them as a White Label triple pack, but couldn't get them to run on win7 with an nv card.
 
Just bought dead island tonight, was quitting to desktop as soon as I ran it. Read on the steam forum that you need to go into the game.ini file and change the language from En to en

Totally bizarre but it worked!

Quite enjoying it so far, runs and looks very nice.
 
Metro any good?

Is it jumpy.. i mean examples of games i cant play due to scares include Doom 3, Dead Space.... even the dogs in COD games made me jump, so is Metro one to avoid?
 
Metro is absolutely fantastic, should be in everyones collection at that price, still looking lovely too, though a few monsters will jump out from nowhere at you from time to time, but you usually know it's coming.

You might want to hold out for a cheap Lego game though.:p

It does make you jump a couple of times - but it didn't have as many jumpy moments as Doom 3 in my opinion.

The graphics engine is the most system-intensive around at the minute... you really need a powerful system to make it look good with a reasonable frame rate.

Yeah probably pass tbh - im assuming 580GTX in SLI with an i7 2600 and 8GB can handle this game though or are we talking the absolute latest graphics cards that are needed?

Not too sure really, they both run on w7 (my steam pack) though I did crash Thief gold trying to change the controls mid game...
 
Bought dead island yesterday even after seeing the metacritic score of 68, really wish I hadn't now.
Played it for about 30 mins in co op, got bored out of our heads, unlikely we will be playing it again.
Killing zombies has always been fun and now it isn't anymore. Walking around swinging objects at zombies and you're not really going to miss gets boring very very quick.

What resolution?

It should run quite well with that configuration at 1920x1200 or below.

2560x1440+ and you won't see great FPS.

I saw the reviews and its looks pretty uninteresting.

Dead Rising 2 is good though, you get swarms of zombies and i find myself just running away from them. Can't kill all of them easily.
