PC V's Consoles

The only reason why I use PC is I can just get a decent graphics card for most PC's and run games on it.

I'm sure if I had a console, I'd want a good mid range pc (minus the dedicated graphics) for other stuff as well.

Two birds with one stone so to speak.

Someone good with a controller will pretty much always be beaten by someone good with a keyboard + mouse. I believe a game that is being released on multiple platforms was going to bridge xbox and PC games but consensus dictated that console gamers would get their ****es handed to them so they dropped it.

Indeed, it's just a restriction of the medium used for control, nothing to do with skill. With that said i still love a good FPS on a pad as everyone else will be using the same controller its not as if you'll be at a disadvantage.

Consoles can be good for social interaction... not least because most of my mates couldn't afford a decent rig even if they were so inclined. Heavy Rain probably has the best graphics I have seen in a game. Not being able to play old games on a PC is bummer, I have the first-gen PS3 that has the better emulation (not found a single game that doesn't work on it yet).

If it was possible to use kb/m on a console, I'm not sure the extra price of a PC would be justified. As it is though, PC games get almost all of my money.

Only thing I would say is consoles are a much more level playing field. If you play online games a lot you are 'less' likely to run into cheaters. Although of course there are bugs in console games which people abuse but thats down to the game rather than players actively seeking out cheats. I think Hard Drives in consoles are a big step forward allowing for patches and updates etc

I only have a laptop and a 360 now, mainly as I am not 'into' games as much as I used to and am a social gamer. Can't beat having a few mates round for pizza etc whilst playing pro evo :D Oh the screams lol

I spend more time gaming on consoles simply because there's more variety and more decent games available. The majority of my favourite games of this gen are console exclusives. Having said that, I much prefer the PC for online gaming.

Indeed, that would be brilliant to have cross formats. Destroy the consoles..

PC Games have better:

Graphics
Gameplay/Frames Per Second
Customization/Mods
Mouse + Keyboard superior then controllers
Better exclusives if you're into RTS/MMORPGS/RPG's
Better for First Person Shooters
Quick load times
You can use a PC for anything
PC games ALWAYS have better communities so if you like online gaming the choice should be very simple for you
Less kiddies playing Pc games because pc's are more expensive

I seriously could go on here, the only con PC gaming has is PC's are more expensive but if you think about it, you're going to have to buy a PC or a laptop for word processing or internet browsing or whatever it is you do anyway right? I mean, I'm a student so I need a PC or a laptop, no matter what.

So think about this:

Cheap laptop/PC 400-500$
TV - 200-300$
Console -200-300$

There you go, over 1000$, that can get you a very very good gaming PC which you can use for your work or university aswel ;)

I dunno why I bother, both have their merits and it's not a case of one is better than the other. They're two completely different platforms tailored for different people. Your clearly suited towards PC gaming, others aren't. That doesn't deem it superior overall.

I wish this argument was dropped, it's stupid.

The argument that PC's are superior to consoles is true, PC's are indeed superior.

PC Gaming has a few good areas, but it's not at the level it was 10 years ago.

Most games now seem to be created for console, with some ported over to the pc quite well.

Since gaming went mainstream and and began to rival the movie industry as a business, the developers have to go where the money is.

Mainstream = Casual = Console = ££ $$ ;)
