PCGH asks Nvidia on Gameworks

But it's not harming performance for gamers. With all your knowledge please tell me why Watch Dogs and AC4 run better for me on AMD hardware? I mean surely this is what it boils down to doesn't it?

You're following a corporate slanging match and ignoring what is going on around you and actively ignoring users playing these games.

I'm going back to OCN. There's too many level headed people to drown you out over there :D

No they should retain control of it, but remove the contract clauses they have in place which forbids game dev - AMD cooperation and optimisation of source code.

Should AMD then remove their clauses that forbid partners from letting Nvidia see the game until it's about to be released? Fairs fair.

Watch the video i posted. Huddy says AMD will release the Tomb Raider contract to journalists to prove there is no such clause that prevents Nvidia from working with the game developer. They mention the Tomb Raider contract because that is the one that Nvidia mentioned during their rebuttal.

Huddy says its a clause ,and he also says Nvidia denies it , so one for one against in respect both for their individual companys.

As many have stated atm its he said she said with no real proof either way , I would suspect theres more to it on both sides than any of us realise or one or the other or them would have already been in court for libel , Instead its just being farmed for free PR which isnt a bad thing :)

Of course and i agree triss. It comes down to opinions and who you believe. Do you believe AMD, or do you believe Nvidia? I look at the evidence provided, the GameWorks titles ive played, the questions game devs answered about GameWorks and i draw my opinion and thoughts from that. Just my opinion at the end of day and it's just as valid as most of the others in this thread. :)

I believe both as they are both corporate entities that care nothing for the consumer, it makes perfect sense in both cases and from a business POV I would even say it should be expected.

I believe both of them know more then what they drip feed PRwise ,and i dont believe either of them 100% as they simply say whats best for there current employer, And yes your opinon is as valid and worth the same as anyone elses imo :)

What i will say and this goes for either side or really most things in life you cant keep trying someone/thing unless you have proof and everyone is innocent until proven guilty (thats not aimed at you or anyone just something thing i believe and yes it has cost me multiple times in life :) )

Of course they do, and believe me you won't get a straight answer out of either. Just like with NV and the MST panel issue, AMD are exposing any holes and put downs. I've spent the last fortnight trying to establish what is wrong with AMD cards and SST panels though. I don't see Nvidia mentioning that anywhere lol.

People read what is put in front of them. Not what isn't

the game companies sign them contracts
if matt signs a contract saying he must wear a bright green t-shirt with fei hai written on the back whos fault is that

its just easier for amd to blame nvidia than the game companies as i see it
us the people who buy the games(well not me i only do f2p and gifts lol), we should be blaming the game companies
...they could say no

That's exactly right. By all means let them point score but with the state of games like Watch Dogs, the PC industry is getting neglected and quite frankly I don't think the vendor bickering is in any way likely to improve that matter.

Yes, that's right. Watch Dogs despite being a GW title is broken on Nvidia too. If anything, I think Nvidia should be making legal allegations against Ubisoft :D.

When you've got Sebastian on Twitter trying to suggest it's because we don't have the unified memory of the PS4, yet the game is a stuttering mess on a 6Gb Titan.

Couldnt agree more

By law (UK and US) a company has to be run for the benefit of the shareholders, if they arent then the board or even shareholders can take legal action against the management to get rid of them, being "open" or claiming to be is a business tactic and nothing more

Spending millions of dollars on and then giving away IP is hardly what i would call benefit of the shareholders, which means there is a tactic behind it and not "for the good of gamers" as AMD claim

We have yet to even see if some of these "open" features actually become so, and there is absolutely no sane basis to have a go at a company for not just giving out their IP for free

every1 who bought that game should be in small claims court i say lol
even if it played silky smooth it would still be a bad game and look nothing like it was meant to

they spent the money on hype not the game
bores me!

The trouble is the AMD fanboys such as yourself are quick to try and push your 'opinion' on everyone else on this forum at EVERY opportunity, it's tiresome seeing the same pro-AMD, anti-NVidia spiel all of the time.

i dont see how he is pushing it onto you, you have your own mind
seems bit like a personal attack to me instead of talking about the topic lol

I don't know if this has been posted before, but has everyone seen this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZGV5z8YFM8

As an Nvidia user, I find it quite difficult to "like" Nvidia. They have some nice stuff like Physx, Gameworks, 3D vision, etc. But when AMD develops something like TressFX, they share it. And what do Nvidia do? They make HairWorks...

AMD sharing Mantle then ?

I don't think anyone in their right mind 'likes' Nvidia. They're a much bigger company than AMD, and they've lost a lot of stead with gamers in particular. AMD are way, way more active in that regard and they are at least winning the crowd over. Sadly though, 'liking' a company isn't really what tends to sway people when buying their products.
