Very interested to see the results of this report... the guy was clearly wanting to get out of there as soon as possible the moment the UAP's were mentioned. The topic clearly made him uncomfortable and not just in a "it's not my jurisdiction" kind of way.

Because when they get captured on good quality media, they quickly become IFOs :P

They have been captured on good quality video according to the DOD insiders who have seen the footage. Those videos are still classified but are undoubtedly the reason why Obama came out and said he is convinced there is something to this.
 
UFO's appear to have flown out the window and landed back safely in the UAP big-picture box.

"US intelligence officials have found no evidence that a series of unidentified aerial phenomena observed by navy aviators in recent years were alien spacecraft, but the sightings remain unexplained in a highly anticipated government report."

I think it's clear that they are not going to outright say it is aliens. However, the fact they cannot explain it tells you everything you need to know about whether they think the craft (and they are craft as they are clearly flying under power and moving with design) are terrestrial or not.

'Unidentified' means that the greatest scientists and military minds of our age, after so many years of analysis, cannot figure out what they are... they just know it's not any kind of known human technology and even if it was it would be so far advanced as to be many, many generation leaps ahead of anything currently in production. No country can keep technology like that a secret in the modern age and no country would be flying it around other countries military if they wanted to keep it a secret.

The fact we now have the government publicly and grudgingly admitting even this level of detail, that UFO's DO exist and that they DON'T know what they are, is already of huge significance.

Think about it.

So either the US is way behind it's foreign adversaries or these craft represent something very odd indeed. Either way there is a technology out there that is potentially world changing.

Add this to NASA administrator Bill Nelson's comments yesterday, when he said he had been aware of these incidents, talked to the pilots and had suggested ways to support the DOD to scientifically study it.

Interesting times ahead.

This is honestly one of the biggest pieces of news I have seen during my lifetime. Because if these powered craft are not from the US or China or Russia, and cannot be identified as any known technology, then what are they and where are they from?

After you rule out all known terrestrial possibilities then there are not so many logical conclusions remaining.

Mental. On the one hand, that is: on the other, this is extremely exciting.

Occam's Razor mode: They are not human technology as far as we know. Therefore they are more likely to be of extra-terrestrial origin.

The report only deals with incidents from the last 20 years, however we have documented military sightings going back 75 years that we know show exactly the same unconventional behaviours. This new report gives credence to those historical sightings while the historical sightings cannot have been a 21st century foreign technology.

This is hopefully a complete reboot for the subject an end to the giggle factor and a new era of scientific research out of the shadows and into the open.
 
With a skeptic's hat on, what are the chances that these are Chinese or Russian? The NYT article mentions that they have been experimenting with hypersonic technology, but is it possible these things are from those countries?

I am dubious. Let's say they are Chinese or Russian. Why would they test them in US airspace?
