People you admired but now you don't

I used to admire Hitler but when I found out he turned vegetarian, wow, he went right down in my book.

I mean he did some great work, i heard he designed the kdf funwagon, AKA the Volkswagen beetle.

How old are you Highlander? 120?

Adults. When I was younger they all seemed so wise. Now I'm an adult, I realise they know nothing and are just as stupid as anyone else. Some of them go off to universities and get themselves degrees in very specialised subjects, or they think because they have age, they have wisdom, which they think makes their opinion on everything the right one when if they knew enough to know anything they'd know they knew nothing at all.

Tony Hart, i was constantly amazed how he could draw things, and by all accounts he is one of the few presenters from the 70`s who has not been ousted as a nonce or something sinister. Oh and John Noakes a perfect example on how normal people can do something fun without being a complete tool of over-hyped celeb dullness.

Absolutely this.

I will further extend this to people in charge of things.. As you say, when you were younger you thought "wow they must be really clever and really good to be a manager/in charge". Then you become an adult and realise most people are just in charge/managers due to nepotism/knowing someone or being in the right place at the right time (dead man's shoes etc). There is often very little actual merit involved.

I don't admire anybody.
I think we are all here on a journey and we have our own lives to live and our own things to accomplish. Money, status, fame mean nothing, and just because someone may have those, doesn't make them better than me, despite what the world tries to tell you, we don't need to look up to them, it's all a facade.
This

For me all about even stevens

We didn't really get to hear his side of what happened though. The fact people still want to work with him says more happened than we were told about.

It probably only means that people want to get paid to be honest, although it is true that it probably wasn't as bad as was made out by the media, 'cause they're the media.

I agree with this to some extent. I often cringe these days when I hear the word 'expert', because I know most of the time it's just a buzzword that means jack.
