Pepsi Max

Acid reflux/indigestion/heartburn can all be caused by drinking diet fizzy drinks, they're one of the number one causes... Although admittedly; so can eating a lot of citrus fruit, and the obvious candidates such as alcohol and fried food.

My take it that anything like that is going to be bad if you drink litres of it every day,

What else can cause heartburn? I dont have any of the foods that you listed that much but I keep getting it :(

Carbonated drinks will by nature be acidic, because of the carbon dioxide making the "fizz." I drink far less Pepsi/Coke/Cola than I did 10-15 years ago, but some days, coffee does nothing for me and I do battle tiredness a lot (partly due to my physical job). Beware of teh dreaded "trenches" just above the lower gumline, a tell-tale sign of too much "pop."

I use to drink fizzy drinks as a kid but never over indulged really, that was my parents who controlled that. It was often more of a treat than an every day go-to drink.

TBH whoever necro'd this thread needs a suspension.

So pointless...

There's quite a bit of irony with this post!

Was drinking near on 2L a day of diet pepsi/pepsi max/coke zero and no water...I don't feel any better off right now :o

I completely cut out caffeine for about 6 months and didn't feel any different. Heard lots of people saying they had twice as much energy etc but it wasn't the case for me.

I banned myself from Pepsi Max around 7 years ago because the caffiene completely destroyed my sleeping pattern. I still don't drink it to this day, I just buy sugar free cherry/orangeade from Asda or the Coop

I drink a LOT of Pepsi Max... I'm talking 5 - 6 Litres a week.. mainly while playing games or watching movies.

Honestly just drink the real sugary drink, these crappy imitation versions are just more profitable as the sweeteners are cheaper to use.

So more fool the customer really, but then PR usually is.

Just be glad we don't get the horrid fructose 'murica thinks is justified as a representation of the finer product... (well at least in most of our food/drinks for the time-being)

I tried cutting down my intake of Pesi max - failed. I like the flavour too much, and my tap waters terrible... where I used to live was nice water... I drink over about 3 litres a day of pepsi max on average and a few coffees... and my sleep pattern stinks but not sure thats down to my drink intake... awake most the night tired all the next day, but I work nights 3days on then 3 off pattern so never good for sleeping.

A few months back I tried too cut out caffiene altogether but I felt terrible couldn't sleep at all, really depressed, my Doctor told me it was all the signs of caffiene withdrawl, so I went straight back on to the caffiene.

I know its not healthy but I cant kick the habit and at £1 for 2litres at asda Pesi Max is pretty cheap too

I like Pepsi Max more than the real stuff though. Doesn't have the burning taste of very sweet syrup.

The dodgy shift work is probably worse for you tbh.

You guys tried Coke Life? I know y'all are Pepsi fans, but it really isn't that bad, and has natural sugars and relatively low calorific content. :)

Why not drink carbonated water...?

Its huge outside of the UK. Here in Sweden it seems pretty much everyone chooses it over regular fizzy drinks, even in fast food chains.
They have some pretty nice ones too.
Very subtle flavours.

LOL im GAY ! Nah its nice... An acquired taste, but very nice.

Pepsi Max, AKA Ambrosia(food of the gods) is delicious. It's all I drank for 11 years or so, minus the times I couldn't get a 2litre bottle for a quid or less. I did the Atkins diet when that was a fad and Pepsi Max was my liquid of choice, I lost 6lbs over 2 weeks.

Someone mentioned, Coke Life above. I bought some last Friday and I think it's nice, goes down much easier than Coke and doesn't have that strong syrupy taste and so doesn't leave that after taste either. Interested in "Pepsi next" but not seen that in stores yet.

Nowadays I mostly drink tea or coffee or refridgerated tap water, but I do keep some Pespi Max for when I can't be arsed, so about 2litres a week.
