i got it from a well known high street retailer online begins with g ends with e :p

Just played my first game online and it was laggy tbh, however i think he was hosting and his connection was red. It was still playable but he seemed to host both halfs instead of a half each like on evo 6.

It seems very easy to score, he went barca it was so hard to stop messi. On the plus side u can look for 2v2 matches in qwick match.

Gonna try making a room and getting a game with soe one from uk see how things go.

:(

Regarding the resolution issue, this happened with PES '08 and Vista that all the resolutions were not dispalyed ... pretty lame they couldn't fix it with the final release this time.Perhaps the patch coming out tomorrow will resolve it instead of using a hack to correct their mistake ...

waiting for the game to arrive ...

Resoultion is fine for me.

My findings so far, if you play people with at least a yellow connection there seems to be very little lag

If you look i was player 2 he was 1 theres a little yellow cricle under the numbers this is the speed of the connection. You also get this in the match create room. So i would advise to aviod to play anyone with a red connection and to host or join match rooms instead of using qwick match. The guy a played was from belguim and there was no lag and it finshed 4-2 to me :) Consderign the games not supposed to be out yet the online was quite impressive.

to proove i'm not a fan boy or whatever i am doomer he is ummm willy lol.

The game its self is very good the champions league thing adds soemthing that was misisng from past evo games. Theres also a voice chat online option in the settings but i havn't worked out how to get it working yet.

If anyone has any qestions or wants a screenshot of sometihng i'd be happy to provide them. I will be playing it all day me thinks :)

Oh and btw the teams are well out of date.

Is there any option to save/record online goals? Using fraps is a pain in the butt, with the ridiculous file sizes.

Is the online Be a Legend thing also 2vs2 max?

Thanks :)

Ohh another question - i just registered on the Konami site for my ID, but i get the worrying feeling that a PES serial wont be needed for online play? Is this the case or not? I dont want the servers to be invaded by pirates >.<

From what I'm reading out and about so far the online seems to be smooth as butter when playing against anyone with at least an average connection rating.

I imagine you will get a code somewhere which will get registered to the username.
You do know pirates are just normal game players too, right?

Nope. Both still at their clubs.

Bit of good and bad news:
It's FREE
It will be available in early November, NOT tomorrow as other sites reported
Four new Spanish Licenses
Updated rosters and kits
Updated Champions League teams and badges
Theatre of Legends mode
In full:

Konami unveils first PES 2009 club update as eagerly-awaited football epic hits stores across Europe…

As Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH’s PES 2009 hits stores tomorrow for PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360 and PC-DVD, the publisher has announced a free downloadable update for early November, expanding upon the games licensed teams and in-game elements.

The download will be available in about three weeks, and updates four Spanish sides – Athletico Madrid, Sevilla, Racing Santander and Valladolid, – all of whom will be officially licensed. Furthermore, it will also update the kits and team rosters of many teams within the game. The UEFA Champions League mode will also benefit from the new update, with twelve more teams added to the club list, with proper UEFA Champions League kits and kit markings added. Amongst the teams fully updated within this mode now will be Marseille, Juventus, and Basel.

The new raft of additions further demonstrate Konami’s commitment to expanding the licence roster in the PES series. Every aspect of PES 2009 has been reworked from the ground up, with new player models, AI elements and physics routines all combining to create the most advanced and realistic football game ever. The game also includes new Become a Legend and Legends modes, wherein players guide one player within a team either solo or online. Expanding upon this, the update also adds a new Theatre of Legends function which allows users to upload replay data for friends to view, and to view those of others.

The PES series has always been famed for its deep yet accessible control system, but the new game is aiming even higher. PES 2009 offers an unprecedented level of control, redefining the intricacies of first touch, close control and ball distribution, while also enhancing its shooting and AI mechanisms to create an all-round footballing experience. New control systems wherein the player can now perform tricks and feints without the use of special moves have been implemented, and the way the player guides the ball has been changed. The PES series has always treated the ball as a separate entity, but new calculations related to the air resistance and friction of the ground make passing and movement in PES 2009 a great deal more realistic.

“PES 2009 is already a million seller in pre-orders alone, but these new additions show how we are determined to continually improve the content of the game,” commented Jon Murphy PES European Team Leader for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “We hope the updated team data and new UEFA Champions League elements will show our ongoing support for PES 2009’s team rosters, and look to continually enhancing such sections in the coming year at no extra cost.”
