Pewdiepie racism

I often say racist words but I don't mean it at all, it's just the way people speak nowdays.

I even have a friend and his wife is black and sometimes he says funny inappropriate sentences about her but obviously he doesn't mean a word of it.

Handy life tip :

If you often say racist words....you probably are a racist, and *definitely* everyone hearing you say racist words thinks you are.

Quite. No excuse for it really, as English speakers we have a whole catalogue of profanity to get creative with, using racial slurs is just an indication that you're dealing with someone too stupid to realise this fact.

People implying saying a word makes you a racist.

In fact the whole idea of a word in itself being racist is hilarious.

Like with all language it's all to do with context. And considering racism is an ideology and words on their own are incapable of thought, they in themselves cannot be racist.

Edit: And on a similar vein usage of any word doesn't make you a racist.

If you are someone who doesn't believe that one/many race(s) is superior/inferior to one/many other race(s) (i.e. not a racist) and you say 'the n word' you don't immediately become a racist. -.-

On a different note, one thing I am not happy about is when black people use the 'N' word.

I've asked black friends why this is the case, and what I get back is mostly along the lines of 'to take the power out of the word'.

But then you end up in scenarios where white people use the 'N' word in the same context a black person would use it and the white person is *gasp* a racist whilst things go unnoticed for the black person.

If it's racist and should not be used, then it should not be used by all parties.

Nice clear lines drawn in the sand.

Indeed, like many has said in the thread, from the 80's until now a vast majority of racist words are pretty much dead and the kids today probably don't even know them anymore because they're not openly spoken in the same way. But because black people keep using the N word, they have kept the word alive and everyone still knows it all the time, it's spoken everytime you listen to a rap song. They it's all shock and horror when a white person uses it!

He's a thought, don't ******* use it anymore and in a generation it would be another dead word.

This sums it up:

This sums it up:

We seem to live in a culture that just wants to point fingers, label people and not get along so it'll never change. Their favourite part when you watch people is they seem to get a kick trying to oust people. Typical school behaviour.

We've also entered an era where people see and read into things that aren't there.

Islam/religion, is an ideology (a system of ideas and ideals) how can racism be an ideology? Genuine question.

The belief that one/many race(s) is superior/inferior to one/many other race(s).

Hence why white people thought they could 'enslave' blacks because they thought they were inferior or that they were superior.

It's an ideology. A completely stupid one, but one nonetheless.

Showing a complete misunderstanding of the issues I see.

Question, can I still use the word fag?

Am I a sexist if I choose to bum a fag? Not that I smoke, but y'know.

Maybe sexist is the wrong word, I don't/know or care anymore, people get labelled as sexist or racist or nazi so often these days over everything that I don't really care what label it comes under tbh

I think you're more likely to get called a homophobe. But no using the word fag does not make you a homophobe.

What about the word faggot? After all, fags are only called fags as in the old days, before they were sold in boxes, they came bundled and resembled a faggot.

Herein rests my case in regards to PewDiePie.

Tally ho

Usage of any word does not make you a homophobe/racist/xenophobe/any other label people want to call you.

You either are or you're not. Context is key to all language. Is pewdiepie racist? I don't know, and you sure as hell can't tell from him saying the n word.

Also doesn't faggot come from the meatball like things?

Either way it's just a word... a sound you make that other people choose to associate something with. That's all words will ever be.
