I can't stand Suarez, but I voted for him; If he doesn't win it, there is something seriously wrong. He's a league above everyone else in England IMO.

I'd also vote Lukaku for YPOTY, but I think I have a man crush on him because of Football Manager.

Who would you suggest in his place?

Edit :: Your top five in World football, or whatever.

Messi
Ronaldo
Xavi
Iniesta
Falcao

Easiest question ever

EDIT: I'll also say whilst I have no problems in voting for Suarez as the PL player of the season I do feel there are still better players in the league than him who simply just haven't had as good a season. Like I said let's not get carried away.

Considering the constant 'controversy' around Suarez I don't think they will want to give him it, even if it's deserved (which at the moment, it looks like it definitely is).

I can see him leaving Liverpool in the summer though, for sure.

I wonder who these players who are better than him who have had poor seasons are?

There a handful that could fit in that bracket, though I'm not saying that's what I believe.

RvP
Aguero
Silva
Rooney
Mata (who has actually been excellent anyway)
Downing

The guy gets my blood boiling but Suarez should deservedly win it. Bale for 2nd place as he has been explosive this season, even though along with Suarez the simulation side of his game narks me no end.

I'd like to see Benteke get YPOTY as coming to the Prem at such a young age and playing/scoring like he has been doing has been fantastic. And yes, i'm a Villa fan.

The whole POTY/YPOTY is a crock anyhoo.

Actually young player of the year will end up being Luke Shaw (forgot how media fawning works in the prem), it shouldn't be because he hasn't had enough games but it probably will be because he's 17 and disturbingly good.

I'd go with Gilly minus Silva.

Silva for me is over rated and isn't really near the level of Mata even.

What a silly thing to say, if a top Champions League team offer top dollar for him of course he'll go. An example would be Bayern - though I can't see Pep wanting him myself (though it is rumoured).

So it's gone from he's leaving for sure to if a top club pays top dollar in the space of an hour. So what happens if one of the very few clubs that Suarez would leave for and who could afford to pay top dollar decide they don't need him?

To say he's definitely leaving is just as silly as saying he'll definitely stay.

I have no doubt he's very happy at Liverpool but equally I'm under no illusions that the prospect of joining a club with a bigger chance of winning major trophies and getting paid twice as much as he is now will be appealing and who could blame him. It's still far from straight forward though.

There's only a few clubs that can pay the sort of fee that we'll demand. How many of them would Suarez want to join? And of the even fewer that's now left, how many need and want Suarez to an extent that they'll be willing to pay a massive fee? I think there's only 5 (Real, Barca, PSG, City & Bayern) possible destinations for Suarez and I'm far from convinced that he'd want to join 2 (PSG or City) of them, I'm all but certain that at least 1 (Barca) won't be interested and you couldn't say with any certainty that any would be desperately after him either. There's still a long way to go before the possibility of Suarez leaving becomes a probability, let alone a reality.

Re Bayern specifically I'm not convinced Bayern can or will pay the money and I suspect the link to Bayern is more down to his agent being Pep's brother rather than something of any real substance too

Aguero for starters

Based on what? I think it's obvious that Aguero's not been close to Suarez's level this season and you'd be hard pushed to suggest that Aguero's form last season was as good as Suarez's this.

The only player in the league that, over the last few seasons, has consistently played to the level that Suarez is playing at now is RvP.
