Not got mine in a safe place
I've got the full compliment of fans in mine plus an extra 120 wedged into the 5.25" bay for good measure. I've got 4 hard drives though so i had to retain both drive cages, which blocks a lot of air flow. The air out of the case bakes my room, so i end up sat in 27-29 degree ambients quite frequently. (especially when folding)
It's not too bad, although the drives do reduce some of the flow. The biggest restriction is actually the mesh itself as it is very fine. I've found that running without the top mesh panel fitted reduced my case temperatures by about 5 degrees. (whilst folding, at idle it makes no difference)So you are saying that if you use both HDD cages, the airflow is not that good with the Primo? It is kinda important to me seen that I will use at least 5 out of the 6 HDD slots.
I'm still using an Armor+ as my case and while it fits everything I need (well, with the rad mounted on the back), it is a bit too warm. I'm a bit torn between the 900D and the Primo
Yes that is a photon 270. To fit it I had to drill new holes in the case bracket. To answer your question about the 80mm diameter aqualis, not likely unless you have a really short gpu. The 270 and 780 combo has literally 1mm clearance between the gpu and the 5.25" bay.(~2mm tops to play with and it is 75mm) If I were doing it again, i'd go with the aqualis eco 150 and lighting be damned. (that air deflector plate and build quality is worth sacrificing the LED lighting for) I don't see the XT being worth the extra outlay.^^
Is that the XSPC Photon 270 Tube Reservoir in that pic?
Cheers for your feedback - those temps are very close to the ones I'm having right now. But then again, my Firepro isn't water cooled. So there is the chance that if that doesn't get enough cold air, the temps might be actually higher than right now. If you use your case without top mesh, doesn't the dust get in the case? It's not too bad, although the drives do reduce some of the flow. At present the ambient temp in my room is 28 and the case air temp in the area above the bluray drive is 31.7. Component temperatures remain quite good though, GPU idles at 31 and cpu idles at 33, hard drives are all around 36. While gaming the gpu rises to about 45, cpu to 65, and hard drives up to about 38.

It is only better than my cm690 merely because i have more rad space. The cm690 had the advantage of two large side panel fans and I had to run less hard drives in order to fit the rads. The big window side panels don't lend themselves to aiding cooling. My room ambient has always been the big problem as it rarely falls below 25 and in the summer it usually sits around 30. The top panel being absent means that dust can get into the upper section with the fans but it won't get sucked it as the fans air pulling are out of the case.Cheers for your feedback - those temps are very close to the ones I'm having right now. Hmmm, kinda feels like the 900D might be the better fit.
Why not it don't matter if it takes a while mate.
Good man no hurry we will be here
Yep I do.
