*** Phanteks EVOLV Owners Thread ***

The fans included are supposed to be as good as it gets right?
I have them on my Luxe (getting replaced tomorrow with the Evolv) and I find them louder than they should.
Thinking about three Nouctua NF-P14s PWM 1200RPM if I'm not happy.

I don't remember any phantek fan being classed as good as it gets. I ditched mine day one.

The Phanteks PH-F140HP/TS is the clear winner in every respect. It edged out the new Noctuas every step of the way, delivering the best overall results of any fan we've tested thus far. To top it off, it had cleanest, smoothest sound of all the new fans in this roundup. If we had to start from scratch, this might be our new reference model.
And here is the link.
I think they are pretty reliable. The SP are supposed to be the newer models. Here is a review on them.

I'll get one Silent Wing 2 (20£ each ._.) and see if it's worth it.

To be fair I think the stock fans needed to break in, they don't rattle any more in Idle (@35%).

Long as you get a fan you like, thats about it :) People can recommend stuff all day but it's down to individual choice.

The Phanteks fans were no use to me as they were white blades, never even powered them up.

Taking the top off the case drops my temps by 15C :( With the roof on the inside becomes an oven. Think I'll have to look into getting a new case.

Certainly not the best case if you are looking for good airflow, it's basically drawing air in through side gaps anbd blowing out through roof vents.

It's dependant on what parts you use, but mine is reasonable on a watercooled setup, and if your handy with a dremel you could chop out and fit a grill on the top, or the front. Or buy something more suitable for you :)

Yeah I might look at getting the top cut out and putting some kind of mesh in.

I only have one rad (the second wouldn't fit) so it makes a big difference.

Odd, you can get most rads in one 280 / 240 and a 360.

I'm just in the process of changing mine to a better layout, kinda flung it together at the start to see if I was going to keep the case.

Rustyone, what x99 mobo are you using man, I know yours is really tight, I wanna check out it's dimensions to see what's comfy.

I'm looking at an MSI mobo, possibly a Godlike but this seems to go beyond the max width. A gaming 9 which is dead on the max listed width, and the gamin 7 which looks like a genuine/Standard ATX.
