i've seen two of these die in friends pc's after they bought them from the purple shirt brigade thinking they were decent due to the price.

enlighten me to what client base you have

is it word of mouth? or do you advertise?

what do your charge and what is the best rig you have turned out? ;)

just word of mouth,, anyway, i dont build high spec machines, anyway, what do you expect, im 14, i can build pc's, but i dont make a living out of it, i have school.
but i think the highest speced machine ive built for someone other than myself was a core 2 duo for a buisness machine

Here are two articles which show internal pictures of the 600W and 1000W versions of the PSU:

Here are some internal pictures of a 1000W iCute PSU:

There seems to be two versions of the PSU and the picture in the last post is probably the current 1000W version of the PSU the OP has ATM.

my internals, are a sorta gold couler, but looks like quite beefy heatsinks.
oh, and well, did anyone anser my question about actualy owning a icute psu?

none of us would actually buy an icute psu in the first place so no i doubt any of us have owned them.

and as stated as i have seen 2 die in short periods of time in people i know machines (both ap 850's) :(

this kid is being brave attempting to run a 140w hex core and xfire on a dodgy psu. i hope it powers on though for the sake of the kid.

but for £70, he should have got a ocz or cosair 650w psu, they are miles better than what he got now. i hope is not too late to change if it fails

over voltage protection, evan if it does die, it wont take the wrest with it, otherwise when i shoretd my cpu pins it would have killed my cpu's?
and c'mon, ive already bought it, and if it does go pop its my own fault, and ill leanr from it, but now ive got it and it hasnt showed any problems so farr i aint going to complain.
so can you just give me time to form my own opinion, but thatnks for the advice i should have asked for 3 months ago.

i feel for you getting all this negativity. yes you probably bought the wrong psu, but its done now. can it kill everything, well yes, if it goes bang there is a chance even with voltage protection it can take everything out with it. but like i said, its bought now so no harm in using it if you cant afford another one. better that than have components sitting in a case with no power at all surly?

Getting shot once might not kill you.
Getting shot once on another occasion might.

And the CPU pins shorting isn't the same as the PSU blowing up.

he aint going to change it.....he has been warned a thousand times so now all you can do is stand back and watch the show or the post "icute wont boot" or "anyone for toasted zosma" dont say you werent warned buddy

I was thinking the same thing. I've been running my last 2 rigs on a coolermaster 460 with 2*18a 12v. Those rigs were a q6600 @ 3ghz, 4gb in 1gb sticks, 3hdds optical and 2*3870... later replaced with 5850 @1ghz. The new rig is the same as above but has a 1090t @ 4ghz, 8gb ddr3. Shouldn't run on the 460 right? Well for the best part of 4 years its never missed a beat. Don't have much to say on the op mind.

Edit... Bah the quote is missing, will add it back when I'm not posting from a phone.

been trying to say that sort of thing for ages, the reviews on power supplies are absolute balls. my 550W OCZ is 'well...' below the recommended specifications of my system, computer is heavily overclocked, on a lot of the time and has never missed a beat either. got overclocked Q6600, 4870X2, four RAM modules, two HDDs, two optical drives, six case LED case fans, numerous USB devices, PCI-E soundcard, no problems...!

No ones questioning the rating but the manufacturer that has a reputation for higher fail rates than most of us would find acceptable (especially as there is a chance of other components going with it).
I know people that have cheap no brand PSUs in gaming rigs (not with 2 GPUs though) and not one of them has destroyed anything yet.

My cpu turned up today, ironicly i have nothing to test it on, i went and got the msi fuzion 870a for £46.99 and with x,n and other multi vender gpu supports and unlock cpu core i though it was a good enough deal.
i still have no cooler, im thinkging of the thermaltake firo @ £42
and i still need some ddr3 im planning on getting ocz 1600mhz ram.
cant wait.

So is there any way of telling weatehr its a thuban or zosma?
it has nomoddel number on, but has product codes

@looked at the date, its 2009 and i belive theyd stopped producing be's by then, witch make me think its a thuban, witch leads me to think its zosma :P
