Must admit I have been reading this thread and the other one started by ZZZAC with great interest. Hope it works out for the lad but not sure if we will know as I see that his name has ´Suspended´under it

Wow you guys are really harsh and, no offence, not that knowledgeable.

eBay is perfectly safe, even from HK. HK is just known to ship cheap fakes, with processors this is not a problem. He will be fully covered by ebay if this product is faulty or does not reach item description.

The 970T is actually another name for another type of 970. They're are two different Phenom II x4 970, one deneb core and one Zosma.

Zosma is Thuban with 2 cores deactivated.

Now the item he has brought is guaranteed to unlock to a 1705T X6. These are hand-picked
and are all stable at 6 cores.

This means he is getting a Phenom II x6 1705T, with is 3.5ghz stock and has a unlocked multiplier. Note that this is faster then all retail X6s currently out. Even the 1100T with retails at around £170 IIRC.

Not only that but the fastest processor available for certain past sockets always retain a lot of value and some even rise.

It's a shame he has been suspended so he can't let us know how he got on.

HK companies are not 'safe' they are like every other person on ebay. they are just as likely to cancel their paypal and/or ebay accounts once they have taken the money they deem enough to make scamming worthwhile. the only disadvantage of a HK company over a uk company is, the postage to send items back is not only expensive, but very time consuming, and no refunds/exchanges will be done until they recieve the item, so gives them more time to not only take your money before closing their accounts, but also get their goods back too.
you say the cpus are hand picked and tested, but....can you honestly say, every cpu was stress tested for a good 48hours + to make 95-99% sure it was stable, no test will ever make sure its 100% stable as there can and will always be variables that can be missed.
i dont think being your first post you can judge people too much as on the whole people were giving their honest opinion, and im sure a lot of people have been scammed in the past.

We are talking about eBay, with Paypal you are guaranteed a refund regardless of what you talked about. eBay is one of the safest places you can shop on the internet. The item is question is from a company with over 99.8% positive feedback with nearly 3 years of history, they sell mostly processors. They also pay 50% of the return shipping cost.

He has brought a safe product and has not been scammed. This makes your first point irrelevant.

Again they are hand-picked to make sure they are stable at x6. I am unsure how long they have tested the stability for however I am sure it was a relativity long time to avoid returns. Now with plain CPU unlocks stability can be confirmed rather quickly, this is because if the cores have been deactivated because of a fault and not just to supply demand the fault will be a manufacturing fault and (unlike overclocking) greatly affects stability. In fact most unlocks will fail to POST or BSOD/cause an error only a few minutes into a stability test, if they are unstable.

Also you say
no test will ever make sure its 100% stable as there can and will always be variables that can be missed
This is the same as retail AMD processors and will always be.

The fact remains that this user was disrespected in many different posts by many different users. I would not accept the behaviour he tolerated and, myself, would have logged an complaint.

He has brought a excellent processor that may well be the fastest AM3 ever available off a good company for a good price. Not only is it better then the 1100T but, as I said before, will be highly sought after in the future if it remains one of the fastest AM3 processors available. Which, with the release of AM3+, most likely will be.

i think you need to research this. i have an 555BE which unlocks to 4 cores, boots to windows and will pass IBT, OCCT and several other tests. i can also run windows without any problems whatsoever, but start prime95 and core 3 will not allow workers to start, so therefore, it cannot be deemed as stable or working properly, but if prime95 was not run, you would never know, all 4 cores show in taskmanager as working properly, and no BSODs. so you my friend, should not start spouting something and assume that it will be believed as gospel.
if you have signed up to cause trouble then im sure you wont last long.
and as for paypal refunding it whatever, i dont think that is always the case as we lost money from an mp3 player from HK that was faulty as they claimed they never recieved it. we bought from them as they had 99%+ good feedback and dealt mainly in mp3 players. paypal did nothing for us as the company did not sign for it but the courrier says it was dropped off to them.

Ok when AMD locks some CPU cores it is for 2 reasons.

- To meet the supply of demand for the lower-end market

- A real manufacturing fault on one or more of the cores so they sell it as a different CPU.

When there is a manufacturing fault and one of the cores is faulty it will be hardware fault. Not too little voltage or too high a clock like with a overclock. It is USUALLY a big obviously hardware fault that seriously affects the stability of the core. My point is that for most people it will be obvious if it is faulty (>95%), same with eBay for over 99% of people it is fine, ordering from HK or otherwise.

If you are an exception then voice you concern if need be, but your argument is based on the fact that this WILL happen to him, that eBay IS unsafe.

It will not unless he is very very unlucky, this means your argument has no basis or relevance.

It is like saying to someone you are going to get run over if they go for a walk. Just because it may of happened to you does not mean it will happen to them. Especially with those odds.

Also
if you have signed up to cause trouble then im sure you wont last long
I have not broken any of the site rules so I do not believe so. I am just voicing my opinion.

i never once, in any of my posts said he WILL have problems or HK is ALWAYS unsafe, i have just mentioned there are risks. yet in all of your posts you have stated the processor WILL unlock and have no faults and ebay is ALWAYS safe, so please re-read everything before jumping to conclusions.
just because something is as you say 95% obvious, does not make it FACT, so stating a hardware fault would easily be spotted is not ALWAYS the case. i do not want to start an argument, i just think if you join a forum you should make sure you do not start stating things as FACTS when there is no evidence to back it up. for all we know when his cooler arrives the cpu will be a dead one, or it wont unlock or oc at all, so for you to state that in his case everything was ok, is not true either.
