I've not read the whole of the thread but from what I've seen there does seem to be an aspect of grooming that as gone on.

I first heard about the story a couple of years ago by people in the gay community annoyed by the way he treated the young chap while publically denying he was gay. I suspect his 'coming out' was to head off people leaking it.
