I am simply reacting to most of the comments that seem to be jumping the gun and labeling before sufficient evidence. I don't have an issue with the stereotype. I don't know the guy, I don't know the apparent "victim" and I have nothing to do with it past making comments on a forum. The same as you actually.

Yes it is a very unusual development but not impossible.

I guess we will have to see what happens. I'll repeat that I'm not supporting either outcome here, I just find it unsettling that so many people on this forum are so quick to call him out as a grooming child molester just so they can be the first it say tha they said so first.

I get you are playing devil's advocate but just because something is lawful doesn't make it right. I am not in the mind of Phil Schofield but as someone in my mid to late 30's I do not find teenage girls attractive regardless if they are legal. In fact I lean towards people my age as I get older. Is that normal I do not know?

That's fair enough.

I think I get a little riled up by the seeming "know it all keyboard warriors" that tend to assume the worst on everything on here in the immortal claim to be the one that said it first.

Blind ignorance of what exactly? I seem to be fully aware of all the facts currently available.

I just have not jumped to ‘grooming’ when there is currently zero evidence of it.

Innocent until proven guilty, is a fairly fundamental concept in our society. I’m more than happy shown otherwise and I’m not blinkered but I just don’t jump to conclusions based on a fraction of what’s likely to come out over time.

Ultimately the outcome he will be cancelled either way.

You're confusing tabloid news with a court of law, lol. Literally back out of the thread if you can't cope with discussion prior to black and white facts.
 
I think what I find most concerning about the whole thing isn’t the lack of media coverage and transparency.

From what I’ve read on Twitter this has been basically an open secret for the past year with photos/videos/etc so clearly plenty of folk knew and had hard evidence that he clearly groomed the kid from a young age, gave him a job, etc. Even if, as Schofield claims, nothing happened until the guy was an adult.

It’s weird how there’s been literally no news in a single tabloid newspaper, magazine or tv station until exactly the point where Philip made a public statement about the situation yesterday. Clearly they’ve been under some kind of injunction or gagging order preventing them from covering it.

If there are people in positions of authority and power to the level where they can seemingly force a complete media blackout and silence on specific issues what else is being kept quiet? So much for free speech in the press.

Unfortunately they all protect each other. Worse happened in my workplace and it took over a year of us complaining and getting called unprofessional, until one of the victims finally came forward. Even then those at the top continued to cover each others arses.

Feels like open season was declared as soon as his itv protection was removed which kinda makes you wonder what sort of deals were cut between them and the tabloids to keep this off the table for all these years…..

Think his days on tv are done but who else is gonna be pulled down as collateral we’re about to find out!
