Pic: Your desk...RIGHT NOW

Just upgraded to a 34" ultra wide. It's lovely but cos my office is so small and the desk I got last year in lockdown is hideous it feels not an amazing place to be right now.

It's being redecorated in August so I think I'm going to try sort out a better desk for then. Will also then get the screen on an arm on the wall.

Congrats, one of the few that place their speakers on foam padding, ever one I see here sitting straight on the table top makes me cringe a little.

It certainly looks the part, but I'm wary after buying furniture from Argos previously. How's the build quality/sturdiness?

I was a bit worried when I ordered it, but the quality is really good. Nothing is 'flimsy' when unpacking, and each piece has a fair bit of weight to it. It's over 50kg when its built.

It doesn't move at all and is very solid. Only downside for me is I couldnt use the drawer as my tower is too tall.

That's great feedback, thanks! Sorely tempted now...

Haha thanks, harks back to my rented flat with my best mate who we were both in the studio 24/7 for months at a time. Always had foam under them too.

Do you oil them like you would a kitchen top or use a varnish type thing?

Rustins Danish Oil is great for wood worktops and super easy to apply with a soft cloth

and +1 for Worktops Direct, lots of choice and the bespoke service allows you to get exactly what you want length and depth

I definitely need to get some plants! Latest addition is the peg board which I've tidied up since posting the underwhelming photo in "post images of your latest purchases". Still need to think of a creative way to display the watches :p

Do you guys think 28mm is thick enough for a worktop to become a desk.

Seen a 2.4m worktop at B&Q for my budget but its 28mm. I've only got one screen an AOC 34" ultrawide. I want to use the usual Alex drawers from IKEA on either end. Will it need another leg in middle to hold the weights?
