you're mistaken, with a tidy desk everything's put away and you need to remember where everything is. With a messy desk, things you use lots are at the top and hence easy to find

On topic as well, that has inspired me to wall mount my monitor (same as yours). Looks great

And as far as the wallmount goes, I love wallmounted monitors, frees up more space than you'd think. Shame the conduit isn't central now, I moved the monitor over to the right to make room for the macbook to be open at the same time.
