[PIC_THREAD] Landscapes, Architecture, Seascapes

Going to throw this in here as well as my Light-Painting thread for people who haven't taken a look :)

Full moon time again :D although the weather isn't up to much I managed out for half an hour last night.

Full Moon Wreck by M+M Morrison, on Flickr

An old Airidh (Moor house) that's fallen into disrepair over the years, Yn-467 with purple gel and Canon 540ez with yellow/orange gel, triggered with Yn-602s. 3 Minute exposure.

How do you get such a long exposure? Is it just a limitation of my camera that I can only get an exposure of 30 seconds? Nikon D5100.

As mentioned, Bulb and a remote will let you go as long as you want, a bit more tricky to work out exposure times though and then factor in the darkness too :D all good fun!

It's annoying that regular exposures only go up to 30 seconds :(
Do what I did, spend £8 on Ebay and get a cheap intervalometer, lets you do timelapses and everything.

Yeah it's more for the auto-bracketing for HDR. I only discovered this the other night when I was out in the cold/dark so I wasn't in the mood to see what else could be done about it lol. I was ok at F4 since even the longest exposure was still sub 30 seconds but anything past F5 was resulting in longer exposures required.

Aah I see, well for my night/long exposures they are all single exposures and not merged. As for hdr, I mostly use a tripod and use auto bracketing for 3 shot hdrs and tweak ISO accordingly. For my 8-13 shot hdrs I usually do use a remote and ISO set too 100-200 checking history for each shot until all the dynamic range iain captured. Hope that helps, obviously other people will hqve different techniques but you will soon learn what you prefer yourself.

Well it's not the 60Mbit I get here with an available 100 but it's better than I thought lol :)

There's some nice scenery here too but the weather is definitely sucking and I need to get out more lol

Glencoe, last week.
