What grad filter did you use? This is exactly the reason I got these new filters this week :D

I didn't use any grads:o
Just exposed for the sky an used the gradient tool in lightroom to increase exposure. I would rather be able to choose how hard or soft the grad is in post, and because grads don't work so well on non-strait horizons.

This shot was taken on d700 in dx mode (by accident), can't wait to test out a d800e now that i don't have any weddings for a little while.
 
Yeah no chance of that at the moment as it's dark as I'm walking home from work at 4PM :p

I can manage something at the weekend though as the water peaks the jetty down the road. Hmm will see!
 
Partly true, the light/contrast wasn't so strong that made them essential, it just gave a even image with less work needed in post process, but yes would have been OK.

The shot into the sun I think is the only one where it had real benefit...... Just need the nice sunny bright days to return....
Looking to a CPL, bit expensive though, so I can just use the Lee holder and not swap to screw in items I have... Plus an Red/Orange and Yellow/Green for B&W film work.
