I bought myself a camera for my birthday- I ended up stretching my budget to £250 so I could get a Canon 1100D with the standard 18-55mm lense.

I ended up in Seaton in Devon for work, and couldn't resist taking a picture when I saw this view:

Haven't photoshopped them at all, I think I might try to reduce the colour vibrance and maybe soften the edges of the trees against the blue sky.

The second one of those is better for me although I wish the shot went further right. I guess I might have taken a few shots and stitched them together into panorama later :)

If it was me I'd also drop the highlight or exposure for the sky a touch to get more blue but if you're talking about dropping the vibrance then perhaps that won't be to your taste heh

Good efforts though :) Looks like a nice place

Had a jolly office day out at the new Birmingham Library on Friday, couple of snap, couple of beers!

I have mixed feelings about the Building though to be honest, there are some really disappointing parts to it. The access to the Shakespeare Memorial Room is incredibly disappointing, the glass lift doesn't go to the top floor so you have to either get another lift or, as we did walked the stairs which, along with the route is so well hidden we thought we were in a service corridor.

Cool, thanks Phal. I found a tripod (strangely next to some condoms ) at my previous flat when I moved in. Purchased my first DSLR and have Lightroom - now I just need the skills :p:o.

What kind of post processing are you talking about? A common technique with shots like that?

Wierd, when we moved into our current house 5 years ago the only thing left in the loft was a monopod.

*WARNING WARNING WARNING*

Do NOT search for "tripod porn" in google with safe-search turned off...

Unless, of course... you are particularly fond of Verna Troyer, then by all means, go right ahead...
