Thanks :) It kinda did itself though! I saw the sun was fairly low and just wanted a shot where the sun was visible in the reflection. The Trees just happened to be in a good spot!

Love the contrast on that shot bert. Wish I could replicate that look! There is a bit of a halo where you have blended the shots and makes the transition a bit jarring, but otherwise faultless.

The halo probably came from when you selected all the green stuff by hand and the feathering went over the edge in places. Then you bump the exposure for that and it exposes tiny bits of the sky more too.

If you do like me anyway :D

And yes, tis a nice shot :)

x100 + 30s exposure on Gorilla Pod.

Love this shot.

Not entirely sure this shot works and if it does, I'm not entirely sure whether it should be B&W or colour. The colours are a bit weird since the sun was very low and made it all very hazy. The haziness seemed nice when I took the shot but I'm finding it difficult to process it in a way I like.

aMb - love your Budapest album. Noob question - is one of the main aspects of getting such rich and colourful evening shots a very slow shutter speed?

Cool, thanks Phal. I found a tripod (strangely next to some condoms ) at my previous flat when I moved in. Purchased my first DSLR and have Lightroom - now I just need the skills :p:o.

What kind of post processing are you talking about? A common technique with shots like that?

Well if you just want livelier colours then a bit more vibrance/saturation and maybe contrast/clarity.

Obviously taking pictures of something colourful in the first place also helps :)

Got bored so thought I'd head to the beach (at 4am!). First attempt doing anything like this but the low light gave me the opportunity to try out a long exposure time. Sky was perhaps not the best but overall I'm fairly happy with the result, and then I see some of the stunning pictures above :p
