[PIC_THREAD] Landscapes, Architecture, Seascapes

Better trees? And yes I was near the edge and the drop is 1000ft:eek: not as bad as the Chinese who do video selfies while walking backwards to the edge.

Is the first photo from Yosemite? I think I have a photo from that spot about 8 years ago (before I was into photography) so this make me want to go back.

That sky looked a bit familiar but that's probably because it's the same sky that I saw roughly! I'm in Shoreham :D I looked out the window and noticed a really bright trail from a plane heading in that directly and thought it looked quite nice with that light :)

Then I decided it was too damn early to think about taking any pictures so I stayed in bed for a while longer.

I didn't finish work until midnight, but I was determined to start getting out and about taking more photos. When my wife's alarm went off at 0550 I looked out the window, thought it had potential and made the decision to go. Will be doing the same tomorrow...

A mostly grey day turned into a pretty nice afternoon so I went to Dartmoor.

My 2 cents:

I want to like #1 but there's too much rock and not enough sky. It's nice because there's that wall and the weird funky rock to the left but because it's in the shade (and because it's rock!) the colours are bland :( The sky looks very nice but it's a small part of the shot.

#2 also a bit meh because no one thing catches my eye

#3 and 4 are gorgeous :) Love the light and the sky and those shiny black wet rocks look very nice against all that.

Thanks for the critique much appreciated, just starting out and I'm finding seascapes a lot easier to get something pleasing from than inland areas. I think maybe because the sea is ever changing with the tide so it's easier to find something interesting, and the movement of the water gives the photo some interest also. Still its good just finding out what works and doesn't.
