whats going on with your flash speed there? it seems strangely blurry to the left. Also for studio shots they seem incredibly noisey, are you adding that in PP? If so I dont understand why?

Its blowing from a hair dryer, the girls get to cold with a fan!!...

iamtheoneneo: the hair was intended to be blurry..That's what I was going for. Its added grain, not noise. It adds to the texture of the image for this particular style of shot..

None of my other pictures are noisy.. they are all shot at ISO 100 with and correctly exposed, so... I don't really know what you mean tbh...

You don't understand why someone would want to add grain to an image?..perhaps to make it look a little less digital... , perhaps to enhance texture, there are several reasons why!!.. thats why its offered in every PP program and pluggin I own!!

I add grain to some of my shots. No one seems to notice and assumes its noise. Depending on my idea for processing or general insanity after 5 hours of processing I sometimes use it when trying for the grunge/Americano look you see on certain albums/film billboards.

This is one I helped my gf edit last night. It was just a quick snap of her friend holding a styrofoam cup of coffee by the road, but I think it came out alright with a bit of a crop.

Thanks ElDude. I have an idea where I want to take my portraiture in terms of lighting, expression, composition and all that good stuff, *but I need to improve my post work. I have only been using photoshop for about 4 months... Although I have several years of After Effects under my belt so the learning curve is quite easy..

I want to create a group of "fantasy based themes", like "Game of Thrones" "Excalibur" type characters and I want my pictures to resemble an almost oil painting classic look. I need more work in that department... But getting there is a lot of fun!!

I don't know what you are doing to the skin, but it looks odd and is really uneven in that last shot? The capture is nice, although I suppose losing the clipped hand and cropping in might make it tidier? The clipped flower on the headband stands out as well...
