[PIC_THREAD] Wildlife, Animals, Birds, Zoo

Took delivery of my new 70-300mm Nikkor today, only took me 3 years to eventually get a lens with some reach. And it prompted me to actually get outside with the camera for the first time this year.

Ended up with 50 odd shots, but of all of them only 4 that I'm happy with. Just show that much more time with the camera is needed. Even these aren't a sharp and noise free as I think they could be with the lens/camera I'm using.

Comments/suggestions gratefully received.

Hmm the change of format from raw to jpeg seems to have had a interesting effect on some of my pictures anyway, a few I've taken whilst learning on my third hand digital camera.

Heres a bee that I took a picture of before being called a paedophile.

I really want a sharper macro lens as this cheap sigma unit doesn't seem to be the sharpest unit in the world... Will have to wait till I win the lottery

Looks like it :) heh

Woot woot. Glad my clean socks were not sacrificed in vain.
It's a broad-bodied chaser (male). Females and young ones have a yellow abdomen, the yellow turning powder blue on males as they mature.
should really get a book on these to find out what i'm taking pictures off

while i was out yesterday on a bit of a photo sesh. i got slightly lost, so as i was turning my car round in a grassy clearing i caught sight of this fella :-) because he was in cover, so to speak, i couldn't really get any full profile shots, but being skittish i didn't want to scare him off
