[PIC_THREAD] Wildlife, Animals, Birds, Zoo

No problem! Addicted to Custard Creams yet?! Let me know if your bro wants any in high res :)

Lets be honest, any photo you use is one of two lenses (unless long exposures) :p

This can only mean one thing, more lenses are required*

*Only kidding, can't see that happening any time soon :p

I had a little time to kill over lunch at work and had my camera so popped outside :) It seems even Seagulls can look good given the appropriate setting! I would definitely benefit from some better AF as it struggles a little to keep track of these birds in flight hehe :) At least it does a better job than I would though so meh.

There was a nice fluffy cloud just below this one so I cropped accordingly :)

Great pictures. Solo night dives must be a little scary though?
As it was in June, did you not need a wet suit?

I'd got my 3mm shortie on :)

The diving isn't as bad as finding your way back to the ladder. That area is all 3 meter cliff.

The sea is 29c all year out there. :D

Some from Sunday in the park, lighting was very weird but the wildlife abundant.
I processed these on an uncalibrated monitor and with the weird lighting I am not sure they are right at all, will reprocess properly another time.

Watching a Heron takeoff is always a wonderful sight to behold

Nutria may not be native but they are wild animals, and quite fun.

These birds are very common around here but I haven't identified them yet.

Ospreys are back in town after winter migration to central america.

My goal this year is to photograph an Osprey capturing and flying off with a fish. I witnessed a perfect example last year but did not have my camera with me.

That first bird is an American Robin but not sure about the 2nd one, perhaps a Merlin with ruffled breast feathers.

I went to Port Lymphe animal park the other week to see the Gorillas. The silverbacks are amazing animals but I don't think they make quite as good photography subjects as chimps. I wasn't too happy with the pics that I took, but it was still a good day even though it was freezing!

He was about 8 feet from me :).

Incredible to see him stand up and start walking. It looked like a (very big) man in a suit! Shame there is a fence in the background.
