Pick Your Team

What we have so far, need a new attacking midfielder, central mid (cover as Davis and Ward-Prowse are the only guys there) and a full back so fox never ever pays for us again.

That would require us to spend at least £55 million. So....no. :P

Also we work well with wide pace. Lennon and Holtby will be used massively next year imo.

I have no idea how we will line up, but knowing AVB it will be different every game, thank god Redknapp has gone.

we are good with width, i agree but we could rotate. have bale left, lennon right, holtby as playmaker when we required or drop a striker and use sig.

my team would be awesome. i just hope kaboul and sandro are fit to start this season.

Walker would get caught out, Lennon really helps him A LOT.

Subs:
Lindegaard
Vidic
Evans
Petrucci
Zaha
Welbeck
Hernandez

Possibly Zaha over Fabio after a while.
I'd get rid of Young, Nani and Rooney.

You really want Fabio and Valencia as our wingers?
Without buying any new ones.
Valencia had one bad season, if he comes to form, brilliant.
Evra has been woeful defensively so Fabio can help, he's rapid going forward and can beat players. Always looked a LW player until Zaha is ready. Fabio had a good year at QPR and, given our other two LW'ers have had ridiculous numbers of chances, why not. Until Zaha is ready.

I'd sell Young (not good enough) and Nani (not consistent enough.) Neither would get another chance for me.

Jones is brilliant, he's a CB and should be playing regularly. Ferdinand was the best CB in the league last season and had arguably his best ever season for us, meanwhile Vidic looked poor and even slower since coming back. This skinny-minny Vidic isn't a beast in the air anymore either. Evans good, but still gets physically bullied.

I have no problems bringing Jones into the fray as first choice next season but not with Ferdinand, the pair have a 0% win ratio when paired together IIRC

That would do me. Keeping Baines and Fellaini, signing McManaman from Wigan, and pushing Mirallas up front. If we sold Baines and Fellaini it could be a completely different team as we'd have a lot of money to spend.

I would say Jones is firm 5th choice at the moment. Ferdinand had a good season, Evans had a good season and Smalling is better when fit.
Smalling is better? You must be out of your mind. Smalling is a disaster waiting to happen. I question his focus on the pitch and even more so off it. I'd happily get rid of him. Not in Jones' class. You see Smalling do the dumbest things on the pitch, and you couldn't say the incident with Benteke was an exception, it's been far more like the rule for the last 18 months. Very poor.

Ferdinand is the perfect foil to learn from. Just a coincidence that that was the case. I also believe they played together when the season was over and there was nothing to play for?

That would be a good line up. I still think you need a better CB than Distin though. That said, with Martinez in charge you'll probably play some bizarre 2-1-3-1-2-1 formation with only one of your defenders being an actual defender if he sticks with the tactical masterclass he put in at Wigan last year :P.

No, they were the pairing when we drew 3-3 at home to CSKA, when we lost 3-0 away to Newcastle and most recently that I can remember when we lost 2-1 at home to City in the derby (only that last game could even slightly be considered one with nothing to play for). As a pairing they just don't work, there's no communication between the two meaning their positioning is generally awful with neither having a clue what the other is doing. I'd rather shove Carrick into CB than ever see those two as a pair again
