Picked up a LG OLED55B6V

dam i hope LG release the UK firmware today as i tried to use the us firmware version but for some reason my b6 wont pick up the us firmware or ask me to install arghhhh

Nope, not 100% confirmed

Based on how LG have reacted with firmware updates, and the fact that they actually demonstrated HLG running on a 2016 OLED back in may and now with what the rep said in the video I'm pretty confident about it.

Can someone please explain how a TV can be Dolby Atmos certified.

Have to admit, I've not looked at audio for a number of years. Last I knew you had to mount speakers on the ceiling for Atmos. What's changed?

Out of interest what did you use to help calibrate the picture? I've got mine set as per the AVForums review but am concerned that I'm not getting the absolute most of the TV. I tend to exclusively use Dark Room and Bright Room. Obviously HDR and DV setting is used where applicable. I am thinking of getting it professionally calibrated but that won't be for at least a few months.

I can assure.you that using other peoples settings is utterly pointless.

I can also assure you that spending £200 on an i1 and using HCFR and following the online guide will get you a great grayscale.

I just used a mix of different content. As I said I started with the AVR forums settings but the were still off to my eyes, the colours in particular were over saturated. I have a THX Disney DVD from back in the day, plus other content I know well. And just tweaked by eye. Don't get me wrong, it isn't calibrated by any stretch, but it looks better than out of the box.

I really hope that when it get professionally calibrated next week, I will see a substantial improvement over my 'by eye' settings. It's the first time I've ever had a TV calibrated, so I'm unsure of what it will deliver.

Out of interest does anyone else's 'My Content' section show anything other then Wuaki.tv.

Ive searched for ages trying to figure this out. When I try to add content it only lets me add stuff from Wuaki. I woudnt even mind but I dont have that app installed.

How can I get it to show content from Netflix, Amazon etc?

Has anyone managed this yet. I've now wasted far to long trying to get Netflix and amazon content showing in the my content section . There has to be a way

Have got a Xbox one s now, connected it up and started to play a UHD but it's saying my TV doesn't support HDR10, anyone had that before. I have no internet so haven't updated any firmware on the TV yet, could it be that?

Also, watching Mad Max, it looks like some parts are playing at 1.5 speed, just doesn't look normal.
