So my cars been away at MRC Tuning for nearly 3 months now. There's been a few minor delays with parts etc but now the mapping has begun it means the end is very near.
I got a few messages from friends who follow MRC's mapper on Instagram and he's started putting up a few pics of the them getting the baseline map sorted before they start to fine tune it.
The good news is the baseline map is makes around 920hp and 1130nm (830ft/lbs) which is a 180hp-100ft/lbs rise over the stage 2 map I had earlier.
and another after the rev limit was increased 500rpm, it's a little more ragged but makes more mid-range power (red line is the older 735hp map) so now it needs fine tuning to smooth the power curve and fix the dip at 5000rpm.
Once the car comes back I'll have a proper clear dyno plot, plus it's straight on another Dyno 24hrs later for a different set of figures (probably a little lower, MRC tend to read a little high).
I mentioned it earlier (may be not this thread), I'll have the fastest most powerful estate in Kent and I'll still be stuck doing 40 on a 60mph A-Road because virtually all of Kent's drivers are god awful
If I had that car, I'd be taking it on the Eurotunnel every weekend. Plenty of places to enjoy it only half an hour from Calais. Kent roads are awful, as you say.
Just back from picking her up after 3 long months away and she's now running 920hp and 830ft/lbs and HO.........LY...........PO..........OP she's fast!
Sadly the weather this afternoon (and the multiple crashes people love having on the M25) made for a pretty sedate run back to Kent but for about 30mins after I collected her and it was still dry, she was stupidly fast, even breaking traction in 3rd which is a first for me
I also realised I posted the above dyno results the wrong way around. The 700rpm limit was the initial run but the mappers realised that the extra 500rpm made no difference as the "trial fit" Intercoolers I'm using don't flow well at high RPM and were having no effect on the power in that last 1000rpm so we've gone back to the OEM limit of 6500rpm, smoothed the curves out and left it with a little extra available if I decide to get better IC's (30-40hp and another 80-100nm we guess).
I can't believe you got the quattro to let go in THIRD GEAR. That right there is immense. Congratulations, I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to stand on its tail.
Can you list exactly what mods you did to achieve these numbers?
