Picked up my new car this weekend........955hp V10 Audi RS6! (HP figure updated 08/10/22)

Mwuhahahahahaha - The turbos have arrived and I've got the car booked in for two weeks on the 9th so I should be sat bored in Kents traffic and miserable weather with 820+hp by the 23rd Jan WooHoo! :D

With it being winter and generally having miserable weather getting new pics/vids is fairly minimal right now, however there's a meet the day I pick it back up which should be "interesting" and there will be pics/vids from that.

It's my 40th and my Dads 60th this year (Sep/Oct) so I'm planning a Spa/Nurburgring trip for us and my car enthusiast Uncle (owned an E-Type amongst others) in the summer. As I'm less than 30 mins from the Chunnel I'm also planning to nip over a few times for Le Mans, track days etc too.

If it goes for above £9k I'll be surprised. They've basically done the two worst things to a RS6 -

1. Destroyed the interior to fit a roll cage - Now it's only use would be as a poor track car (RS6 is way too heavy for one to be fun*) as no-one else wants that cage and the cost to put everything back to stock would be silly.

2. Run too much power through the stock gearbox, wrecking it - minimum £3.5k bill to fix.

*doing the odd trackday in your own car is fun, however this would have to be a dedicated track car and there are much better track cars for the money!

Thats pretty much accurate, there's average speed cameras covering the tunnel so you can't go silly, although I may have hit 80mph a few times ;)

My favourite is at 1.13 watching the RS4 next to me disappear :D

Hi all, about a week ago I realised that I'd never done a proper "top Speed" challenge before so, before my car went away to MRC for a 900+hp conversion, I decided to a midnight run over to the unrestricted German Autobahn was in order.

I chose the A40 from Venlo to Moers and got there for around 2am Saturday morning but only managed one unimpeded run due to the occasional bit of traffic where my UK-based "70mph speed limit" reactions kicked in and I slowed down, even though technically that autobahn is unrestricted so I could have kept going but it's so hard to push on past people at 150+mph it just feels wrong!

Anyway, it was a 12hr round trip and absolutely draining so I'm not 100% sure whether I'll do another once the 900+hp conversion is finished in mid-March but if I do then I'll post it up for comparison.

Points to note - At 206mph (speedo) I just changed into top gear (5th to 6th), the traction light said I was still wheel-spinning at 70mph (very doubtful!), it used 10 miles worth of fuel according to the trip computer and I did it in normal "D" mode, not Sport or Manual with the ASR Off but the ESP On!

I used http://www.autobahn-speedhunter.com/ to find the stretch of Autobahn I used and https://www.eurotunnel.com/ to book the £23 each way tickets

Brilliant, that acceleration is mental! :D

Warp 10! I'm surprised you didn't have some GPS device to check speed also.

I've got a 10hz external GPS tracker which is bluetoothed to my phone which recorded the run which is why I know I *just* hit 200.3mph before slowing when I saw traffic ahead (even though it's unrestricted it's only dual carriage way ).

The "plan" was just to go as fast as I could, whether that was 99mph or 299mph I wasn't fussed but somehow cracking 200mph gives a strange feeling of accomplishment considering that, as the driver, you basically do bugger all but bury the throttle and hang on :D
