Thread has haemorrhaged to epic proportions.

If two or three people disagreed with me over something I'd reconsider what i'd done.

But if the whole world and their mum told me I was wrong.......

Has anyone said to you (online or otherwise) - "Nice one mate, you made the right decision"?

This thread frustrates me beyond belief yet I don't really care as its not my problem.

It's sheer idiocy. I can just see the carcraft salesman fapping one out for weeks at the mere thought of this.
 
James, I've tried to help you in the past when you umm'ed and arr'ed about a Digital SLR, and thought the fact it took you so long to make your mind up was a good thing. You didn't know a lot but you wanted to learn before you committed and saved up your cash.

But this is lunacy you're going to be 23 with a 9 year old car worth around £1,000 and over £3,000 less better off than you would have been had you not done this.

£3,000 which could have gone towards anything in the world: clothes, a new ipod, a new pc, but effectively you've just burnt £3,000.

Take it back and I'll loan you the money myself.

First of all, may I thank the OP for proving I'm not as bad with money as I thought. I bought a car that is moderately quick, and does 30mpg, and I plan to do 20,000 miles a year in it, costing me £300 a month in fuel or thereabouts. I paid £1250 for said car.

I'm 20, not in a particularly safe area, and pay £1700 fully comp with legal cover for insurance, on a Group 17 car.

Again, thanks! I feel brilliant now :p

I dont want to seem mean, but i agree with most here... its a lot of money for not much car! Thought even the likes of arnold clark would have been better, hear about them gettin finance for people struggling... i know its not ideal, but would have been better than whats happened!

Well you have your wheels, and you are well and truly paying for it... so enjoy! :D

Does it not just make you die a little inside that your paying £450 extra more than the cars worth on insurance?
 
To be fair, it does shift when you boot it :p

Not sure why it's 17 though, I mean I can't get insured on some group 13 cars.
Not complaining mind! :D

Edit: Insurance for me is £600 on a 1.0 Corsa, it's never going to be mega cheap.
I could pay £1200 as I do on my old diesel, or £1700 on something like a Ti.

Bearing in mind, on any quick car my insurance is likely to be £2k plus. I'd rather pocket the difference between the 620 and a Mondeo ST220 or Focus ST170 or similar, and pay more than the cars worth to the scammers :p

God the amount of turds that go about with 206,clio,saxo with lexus lights, angel eyes, fat backbox exhausts and tacky interior crap is unreal, it doesn't make the car faster ffs.

I'm happy wafting around in a luxobarge, I know it's not to everyone's taste, but I wouldn't change it even if I could :)

And I don't have to pay for it for 5 years :p

True, well as long as your happy with it tbh. And for that price that you paid for it thats a rapid car, maybe not the most reliable? But I'd rather drive that than half the piles of crap you see floating about.

I take it you get a lot of toss pots in there saxos etc trying to race you thinking it's a slow grandads car :L?
