I just can't quite work this thread out...

I've had to stop several times reading, because I just can't breath, and I needed to dry my eyes.
If the OP turned around and said this was one huge Hoax, then he'd be the best person to ever live.

Please OP, tell all of us it was just a sick twisted joke?

I'm happy to rip people to shreds who buy an iPhone on rediculously long contracts. It's an over-rated and over-priced ponce magnet.

thing is

I have an iphone, paid £100 for the handset on the £35 a month tariff.

It includes unlimited internet access, which people like vodafone will hapily charge you £5 a month for. and £30 a month for 600 minutes is about average when getting a good contract phone.

It doesnt bother me though. Ive paid about £30 a month for contract phones ever since i was 18. Ive always liked gadgets so ive nearly always ended up paying a decent sized sum for the handset. I still remember paying £100 for a nokia 7210 that had a colour screen. a colour screen !!!!

i was well chuffed at the time. So paying for new and fancy handsets is nothing new to me.

I understand what he's done, but how is it different to buying an iPhone on an 24 month contract. You end up spending about £1200 on a bloody phone! We don't rip to shreads every person who goes and buys an iPhone though.

how much the phone costs you depends entirely upon what calls you make, and how many minutes you use.

If you're constantly calling other mobiles from other networks, then you'd be chewing your way through PAYG credit. The calls are going to cost you anyway. Even the cheap o2 sim only contracts are like £15 a month. So that means you have to discount just under half the total sum of the monthly payments

You've not paid £1200 for a phone. youve paid £600 for calls and £600 for a phone etc..

Would be quite funny if this was a hoax. If James didn't have anyone to consult why did he post a thread, he usually does that. He knows in the back of his mind that its a rotten deal but he's just blanking out the sad reality of it all.

Plus it doubles up as countless other gadgets. Selling my iPod on the bay has funded the cost of my iPhone and a couple of months contract rent.

I wonder if there is a link between iPhones and Carcraft.

Oh hang on, James07 is the guy who had a bright blue sig image containing large letters saying 'I HAVE THE IPHONE 3G ON O2!!' :D

Suddenly I'm thinking twice about the Brand New Punto Dynamic Sport (1.4) for 8k... this thread might just be a godsend.

Amount of Loan £8,000.00
Total Charge for credit £1,922.20
Total amount payable £9,922.20
Monthly repayment £165.37
Number of Repayments 60

With the MOT just around the corner for the wreck of a Hyundai Accent Mvi... [Scrappage is included in the above, the above is also a loan, not the finance from the sales folk which is ridiculous].

Do I need a slap for even debating doing this? (I'm thinking buying new will save me money over the warranty period [3 years]).

(Apologies if this is a de-railment in anyway, I just don't fancy being in the position of the OP.)

A loan is a much better way of doing it then some silly 19% finance.

Lol wut? I'm a very happy owner with my iPod, I paid nothing for the phone and am quite happy to pay the £30 for unlimited calls, texts and internet. Is there a better phone on the market that allows me to watch the 20 minute CNN and BBC headlines in the morning while im in the shower?

That's similar to my CTR finance (5.5%). Works out about £1200 interest over 5 years. As far as finance deal goes in this market you might not get much better. Whether the car or term length is worth it to be fenced in is really down to you and your rational feelings.

The problem I face at the moment is that I've underestimated the upkeep of my property and the CTR money. I owe more than the car is currently worth and I don't quite have the overhead to pay the difference at the moment. I also love the car and another 2 years of ownership is no hardship tbh :D

My 206 finance deal wasn't as bad as the OP @ 13% or so. If anything, Carcrafts lenders should be shot for letting someone get into the deal in the first place. It should have been refused completely if the history is as bad as what has been made out. If my dad did that to me I'd shop the ******* in tbh.

how do you manage video on the iphone. Have you applied the special patch we're not allowed to mention ?

i have it on 80 posts per page and read first 2 pages.....so was this all a joke then?

i really cant see anyone being that daft and spending 9k on a horrible little clio what at this time as the resale value of 2500-3000 quid at a struggle and in 2-3 years time will be worth about 1200 lol

seriously this thread as to be a joke

I can do all that with my £15/month N95 8GB.

The iPhone is a pretty interface. And that's it.

It's the dumb-blonde catwalk model of mobile phones.

You your Ipone in the shower?
But yes I would go for the HTC touch HD/Diamond etc etc over the Iphone any day. It does what the Iphone does and more.

I got my car on finance last year, and it was for 5 years. I knew I was going to be tied in for a long time so it had to be a car I knew I would still like to be driving in 5 years time. Looking back now I'm glad I got it, I can see myself keeping the car hopefully a lot longer then that.

I do understand why a person would get a car on finance, its sometimes the only way you can own an expensive/nice car, when its simply not an option to put the full money down. If you are paying twice as much though and you know you are, and that much for insurance  I wouldn't have been able to go through with it even if you are happy with the car. I wanted to get an M3 but the insurance was twice as much, I can't even think about paying over a grand for insurance nevermind over 2 grand.

I hope the car serves you well anyway. :)

all of you saying tge 2 grand insurance is bs. its nott. me and all my mates at the age of 18-20 were paying 2k or that there abouts. purely cos of of our post code\age\no no claims. if i put down i lived in a diff area 2 mins car ride away i would save 400. if i put down i was female i would save 600. the joy of being young.
