Pics of my new car!

I did near enough exactly the same this at 19 but worse. Luckily mine had a cooling off period which got swiftly used after my dad tore me a new ********.

Gotta love the people walking into this thread with an erection ignoring the fact the poor lad's been had saying 'Enjoy the car, ignore the rest" etc. :D

Smash it or burn it.

Too bloody right. If I took out this type finance deal I'd have two black eyes and my arm in a sling then he'd go to Car Craft and shove the keys up the salesman/woman with much force.

Really Janesy, would you though, really?

I mean, it's not like the last 16 pages of this thread have been you saying the same thing :p ;)

any company offering finance is legally bound to offer a 7 day cooling off period, Carcraft will do somewhere, it'll just be hidden in the masses of highly inflated figures somewhere.

Now James, you've had it a few days and hopefully realised what a mess you've got yourself into, 100's of forum members can't be wrong (can they?) I suggest you follow our advice take the car back, buy a banger for a few months while you save a little for at least a deposit, more companies will offer you finance if you have a deposit, and you'll get a better deal too.

I still say it's a nice little car for a 19 year old but the above advice is perfect as that deal couldn't be worse.
I feel Sorry for the lad & hope he can get out of it somehow, Maybe now you lot have had your fun One of you in the know could Help him out.

If there is indeed some little gem of a get-out clause buried deep within their cavernous T&Cs and contractual piffle, it would be more than a bit prudent to pull out while it's still possible. However, won't Carcraft do their very, very best to make damn well sure that the 7 days overruns, and he therefore is stuffed?

I cant believe this thread is still going...

I'm normally the first to say "mind your own business" when people question getting a £4k bank loan to buy a car etc, but even I've had my say on this one!

Does anyone know how much profit/turnover carcraft are making? We could use it to get an approximation of how many idiots there are out there. Compare to the number of cars on the road and we have a nice risk factor

I do like to hammer my point home ;)

When Fox did it on Moek's thread, he managed to save him from a nightmare finance deal. Admitedly that didnt take 8 odd pages of "I'm happy, leave me alone" and several more pages of him ignoring it, but if you can hammer it home enough for him to get out of it then it'll be a good thing. Although part of me thinks he needs to learn the lesson on his own

He has had the car for around 7 days now any ways. He won't get rid of the car, trust me on that one ;). You guys have echoed what I told him when he got it. I just told to "oh shut up and dont spoil it for me" xD!

I very much doubt he'll be saying that in 2 years time

I've not even had my car 1.5yrs yet I have the urge for more power, more gadgets! so quite how a he'd want to keep the Clio for years unless it's just an A>B vehicle and nothing more (in which case why not get a banger!) is a mystery :p

Whilst my engine choice was crap yeah the car itself certainly was not :D

But luckily when I bought mine the cheapest you guys found when searching was around 1k cheaper than what I paid for mine with same spec and similar miles so I don't think I did as bad as the OP and my insurance was 1.2k on the 4cylinder no thanks to some previous claims but that's all gone now which is ace and hence why the next car will be awesome :p

But more power for straight lines and overtaking is a must TBH I realise this now, even if cornering and handling is win!

Ditto - I've had my current car a year and a bit and wouldnt mind changing. Sometimes I think I shouldnt have got the loan (I traded my old Alfa in for 4k and got a 2 year bank loan for 3k to top it up to the 7 I paid for mine) but now I've bought my own place, priorities have changed somewhat and if I keep it for another 6 months I wont be shelling out anything on a monthly basis for it. Buying the flat was the reason for the change in the first place though - the loan payments were less than the extra the alfa costed in fuel, oil etc and gave me something more dependable. Thats whats known as a credit decision that has been well thought through and justified

At 19 I'm assuming the OP is living with parent so feels like money wont ever be a problem because outgoing are low. Moving out in a few years, whether its buying or renting, was a point I made to the OP a few pages back but was another point he never considered and ignored when I made it.

Yup, the only reason I got this one quite quickly was because the saloon was breaking apart literally, it was losing oil, it had tyres that needed changing, the coolant was dropping to god knows where and it had noises over bumps and I think the fan motors in the air vents were going as they squeeked so quite a large repair bill which I'd rather not have to pay!

I got 3k part ex for it though which I could not say no to so just went for the part ex in the end :p

Oh shut up. Someone said where was he and I said he's probably working as he has two jobs on the go because he isn't not much pay.

We cant really focus on your car because quite frankly, its rubbish. I mean look at it, its a bottom of the range Clio with no kit and crappy wheel trims. I'm not normally one to rain on people with crud cars because hey not everyone can afford a decent car but you've just spend nearly ten thousand quid on a 2005 Clio so frankly whats the point in putting sugar coating on it?

This is a candidate for the biggest EPIC FAIL of 2009. Infact you can tell its a huge amount of FAIL because nobody has come in here to flame me for being nasty yet and that normally happens within 10 minutes of me not being complimentry about somebodies finance deal. Heck even Gajin isnt telling me to pipe down.

Seriously, what on earth are you thinking!? What part of your brain told you this was a good idea?

100% agreed, OP is on crack.

Er, well no you didn't. The way you worded it made it look rather like an insult to me. Clearly if you had wanted to actually just answer the question you would have said 'he works long hours so is probably just in work'.

You try to be so much like Fox with your opinions and posting style, but the difference is Fox's posts are always relevant and have a point to them. Yours just come across as childish and insulting.
