Some HD555's for £59 new. :)

Nice buy too, listening to music is a good experience with these.

One is missing.

It's absence can be explained by this:

Which can further be explained by this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMQ0xkmj-0M

Works perfectly for what it was designed for.

That stun guns a bit crazy isnt it.

I only call it that on the clip because that's what your average citizen will see it as.

It produces a 13mJ spark which is a little more than the usual 10mJ in a gas ignition system you might find on a BBQ.

Does that about 20 times a second at between 30-50KV.

The idea is to use it for setting off fuel/air mixtures.

With a high voltage you can have the spark jumping across multiple gaps in a combustion chamber thus potentially allowing combustion to take place faster by starting the burn in several points at once.

With a high rate of sparking you increase reliability and decrease any delay from a failed spark due to perhaps poor mixing of gases.

However it should be just fine even if the chamber was tens or hundreds of litres :)

However I did frankly follow the same principle of operation as a stun gun to design and build it, I just made it put out 3-7 times less energy. Uses less than 3W.
