*** Pictures of things we bought in May 2012 ***

I have the i1Display2 already yeah but I've been wondering if it doesn't fully support LED backlit monitors of the current generation so bought the colormunki to compare results. Xrite say in their testing that they saw no issue but they don't say what screens they tested on, using what software version or the environment so I can't take their word for it!

The colours look great on that Dell monitor, is that pretty close to how it looks IRL?

It's an IPS display so yes, what you see in the picture is accurate :)

Edit*
Although I'm not sure what it looks like through your monitor :p

Had this about 10 minutes. Replaces my old Seamaster Ive had for 18 years :)

Looks rather expensive :p

Ah, pretty cool. Thanks. :)

It's this one actually: http://www.xrite.com/product_overview.aspx?ID=1513

It's essential for my work with the added piece of mind bonus knowing that the colours I see on screen are what they should be and what I send to be printed will come out just like that too :)

That's what the image filenames say. :p

Any good mrk? Been toying with the idea for a while. :)

I've just calibrated both screens with it and the results are pleasing and compared to the Lacie BlueEyePro suite, I think this works better on the Dell which has the LED backlight as the faint blue cast has now vanished. I also like the fact that this supports ADC so I don't even need to touch anything as all OSD controls are done by the Colormunki, I just tell it what I want to achieve and it does the rest in 5 mins.

I recommend it! I'll be putting my old probe on MM later on though as those with non LED backlit screens will be able to benefit.

mrk - what do you use to light these pictures? they always look so well exposed, I can never get mine to look so darned good!

@mrk, what was the results you got from the colourmunki vs i1dpro?

Edit: Oh, just seen. Hmm, I may just get a colourmunki later then.

It was a toss up between that and the i1Display Pro which is a bit more expensive but TBH I couldn't see the benefit in spending the extra £70 odd as the colormunki does exactly what's needed. I do miss the reporting features of BlueEyePro I guess but nothing major.

That's a calibration tool, right? I have (what looks to be) the same monitor, and a decent TV and I've no idea how I'd go about calibrating things... I assume whatever you have is likely more expensive than either? :)
