and with my new knowledge, a pic of the monitor that i technically paid for last month, but arrived this month. 27" IPS for about £223, 1 stuck pixel but you can only see it if you really look for it.

Very nice, especially the waves on the watch face. :)

Have you kept the old one?

Ya Ive kept it, it looks really small by comparison to my new one, but I've got used to it already. The old one has just had a new load of bits repaired too, then this one 'came up' :)

I bought this knowing that their was the possibilty of one, can't complain for £223

If it was new. I'd still complain.

If I buy a new item, I expect it to be new, not have defects from the get go :p

EDIT: No idea if £223 is a good price, its a monitor to me :p Whats so special about it?

It's a 27" 2560x1440 IPS display, the cheapest equivilent was the Hazro for £400+ until these became available.

I think he's lowering it to be nicer on the eye which it certainly is, won't harm the handling neither.

What is it trying to be?!

I did look at that monitor before getting the Dell 2412M but the amount of stuck pixels and warranty Qs were offputting and the lack of stand adjustment!
Can't knock it for the panel quality itself though!

That's a calibration tool, right? I have (what looks to be) the same monitor, and a decent TV and I've no idea how I'd go about calibrating things... I assume whatever you have is likely more expensive than either? :)

Well the Dell U2412M is less than £250 although the Hazro was £460 when I got it! Worth a lot less now obviously :p

That's the monitor I have... and the TV is a 42 inch Panasonic G30 plasma. Sometimes I feel the settings aren't right and I've quickly given up trying to fix them myself. Haven't the faintest idea what to do about it, but I think it'd have to be some kind of device I guess.
