piledriver - Official AMD FX4300,FX6300 and FX8350 review thread

any idea what LLC is called in the ASRock extreme 3 990fx think im getting vdrop as its set to 1.45V but cpu-z is reporting 1.38 / 1.39.

I have also disabled

turbo
APM
cool N quiet

Ok update, I've replaced the waterblock jetplate with a thinner slot one and turned the waterblock 90 degrees which seems to have knocked a couple of degrees off, it's still hovering around the 61C mark though in Prime95.

I've managed to get 4.6ghz Prime stable (so far) with 1.44V but I doubt I'll be able to go much further without using more volts and I'm not prepared to go any higher on that, this is on a Crosshair Formula-Z so the motherboard is unlikely to be holding me back.

It'll be interesting to see how the 8350's do I would have got one instead if I'd known they were in stock today.

LLC should have different settings to control the voltage drop under load.

ASRock sometimes uses 0% to 100% or levels 1 through 5.
Level 1 is least vdroop

wei as promised

I changed my order from 8350 to 8320 because i was fed up waiting.
It's early days yet but my gut tells me the 3820's are the runts of the litter.
Like you 4.6 at 1.45v under load.
Low 60's on small fft's

That's about 10C lower than my 8150 at the same clocks.
Power consumption must be lower which is good.
