PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Broke the run of bad luck yesterday. Duo game around mid afternoon where we were not taking it too seriously due to being really under kitted. A few good kills and loot and suddenly we're in tiny circle with ten others, soon whittled them down and got the win with 5 kills each. 2 games later in a squad, again not taking too seriously as we'd been running forever, circle shrinks in field to east of Pochinki, only two of us left in the squad, followed by a few good moves with the circle and take a second win in a few hours...this time with 4 kills each.

Had 2 absolutely utter bullcrap games yesterday.

#1 I popped my head around a corner at the hospital and instantly had it take off by someone shooting at my brother who was on the other side of the corridor. By instantly I do mean instantly and what made it worse was it was with a pistol.
#2 Having a fire fight across a road with another guy, Both of us being behind walls. He was following me through the wall (I am giving him the benefit of the doubt that he could see part of me while moving rather than starting hackusations) I lined my crosshair up, popped up fired a single shot and crouched back down, took a few steps then died to a headshot from the guy over the road that he fired when I popped up.

I just raged and left at that point.

So since my first post in here about my FX8350, 8GB RAM, 2 x 280x beast of a machine not being able to run this very well even on low/very low for everything luckily i had some issues and had to replace it. :) (PC serves as the machine that runs our laser cutting business and needs to work so i can design stuff.)

The replacement is a Ryzen 1700x, 16GB RAM and a GTX1080 currently completely stock. The difference is night and day! It automatically set everything to very high and 1080 and didnt really struggle. I had a few pauses but as the machine was a rebuild i was redownloading all my Onedrive stuff in the backround which probably didnt help... I'm going to bench it stock and then do some overclocking and re-bench it to see where it is. :) I'm still terrible though! Haha!

Those are the best wins!
Absolutely :)

My solo win the other day (7 kills :D) I got a UMP early in Gatka and a silencer for a sniper but no sniper, killed a chap who dropped in the same place as me and someone who drove over to loot as well. Then moved on to the 2 big barns by the south coast of the main island, when I got there could hear footsteps so cleared the building I was in then sat tight. Heard someone go into the next building along, much gunfire - someone died someone lived lol. Then the circle came in and pushed both barns out, I waited in the blue for the guy in the second barn (further from circle) to move whilst popping boosters & using bandages. The second he went past my barn I popped out and killed him & ran along road to a small shed just inside the circle. Started worrying here as had no ranged weapon, little in the way of vest/helmet and the circle was going to be very open. Carried on and started crawling to the circle when someone infront of me with a SKS was kneeling taking shots, waited for a kill message in the corner before taking him out myself and taking the SKS :D By this time we were down to 5, I got cover from a rock just inside and could see three of the four remaining. One of those three took out the fourth and I killed him whilst the other 2 had a gunfight between themselves - In cover from each other though gave me a perfect shot on each of them for the win :D

In bed all last week with 'man flu' but thought I'd take my mind off how rank I felt by having a rip last night.

Did not go well. Lol

Pro tip, do not play this game if you are in any way under the weather.

haha nice one!

Best win was in duos, we got nothing, terrible circles, I didnt even have a level 1 helm, only 1 weapon, an ak with 60 rounds, mate died to the circle, i got in with a quarter of health, used my single booster - then by some miracle on one of the last circles, nearly everyone was outside so took my time picking them off coming in and finished with 6 kills - i've never been so undergeared - had 3 rounds left for the ak, no helm, no vest, no meds - lots of sniper mods lol.

Had a few rounds last night as a 4, kept getting to the last 12 but kept getting into a fire fight with a squad infront of us and then another kept coming behind and wiping us out whilst currently engaged.

this is not a troll post, but why do people play this game?
(ive not played it, but it just seems like Dayz/ any other survival game..) hidden behind a battle royal mask..

Early access, from reviews it says its very buggy

Its purely battle royale, theres none of the normal survival aspects from dayz h1z1 etc. Also no zombies thank god.

I suppose what makes it fun for me is its all about the tactics, every decision you make good or bad determines how long you will survive or if you will win.

I wouldnt say 'very' buggy, it has bugs but for an early access release is easily playable and enjoyable in its current state and it just keeps getting better.

Played about 8 games on Saturday in Solo, came 2nd in 1 and finished top 10 in another 6. Since the stat reset I cant seem to get a solo chicken dinner despite finishing in the top 10 25% of the time

re brought for third time game seems a lot better now so finally look forward to enjoying it.just had a quick game was fun.came 5th.

So does that mean that you finally accept that you were wrong when you said the hype for the game would die down and it will drop like a stone at the end of March ? :p

To be honest, I havent found it all that buggy at all, for an early access title, I've played full releases that were far more buggy than this.

As to why I play, for me its a simple reason..because its enormous fun. The concept is simple, the implementation of the concept is straight forward, yet the game gets your adrenalin pumping in a way that the more action packed, visceral FPS just dont seem to manage to do. There are so many moments where your heart is literally pounding in your chest and your hand is shaking on your mouse and so many moments of jump-scares to keep the blood pumping. Like the best movies and books, its the tension , suspense and apprehension building up that creates those moments. In Battlegrounds those times where you are crouched in a bush, or in a tiny room and you can hear footsteps nearby supply that build up.
