PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

LOL. For me, the game needs something new now, i'm getting bored playing beyond the first couple of minutes.

do you not go red crate hunting then? the ones that drop from the planes.

it's what all the streamers like to do if there is one nearby and it's certainly not boring as it has the best loot and 20 guns aimed at it.

So about 45 hours into this and loving it still but I am getting some major FPS drops on the regular and when engaging in a fire fight. Tweaking settings doesn't seem to help or offer all that much extra FPS. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Play a combination of solo and duo but would like some squad games. What's the best thing to do, just jump on discord or is there a Steam topic with users and games played?

Cheers.

latest nvidia drivers have a tweak for the game. i'm using the suggested geforce experience optimal settings. the majority of which are ultra with some low. and it told me to run the game in borderless windowed mode instead of full screen. hitting 100+ fps on a 1060 3GB

Cheats aren't going anywhere. BE has blocked and hooked the majority of ways in but there are some they can't touch.

Unless game companies can find a way of making cheats unprofitable there will always be people working to defeat anti cheat.

can't the company backwards engineer the cheats that they sell? then find a way to scan for those cheats and then ban everyone using them? if people cheating are caught and banned quickly and swiftly it makes cheating pointless as your banned before you get to enjoy it as such and win lots of games. put it this way if you had spent £30 on the game then another £20 on a cheat and you got banned within 5 minutes. would you fork out another £30 for another 5 minutes worth of play? no you wouldn't. they need to be a lot more efficient when it comes to bans

That's what BE does on top of the api blocks/hook checking. If someone finds a way around them then once BE works out that they're cheating they'll upload a copy to their servers to reverse/create a signature to scan for in future(or they may try and buy the cheat posing as a customer. A few of the cheat companies seem to be requiring ID of their customers now).
There's also issues with false positives can't ban without being 100% sure as a few bypasses use legitimate programs as their entry points. The only way to catch that without getting innocent players would be for the program developers to block such a function(if they can) or blacklist the program. There was a publicly released bypass that used CPUz service.
Signatures wouldn't work in that case because they can be easily changed.

Sadly it's like antivirus they're always fighting a losing battle as soon as they catch one and block it another will take its place. Probably find some of the cheat developers are sitting on multiple bypasses waiting for one to get banned. They tend to be back up within hours, days at the worst.

Sadly the cost probably doesn't phase that many cheaters as you can get cheap keys as well, there was a load of RU keys being sold for £8.

Rumour has it there are private cheats as well where single digit number of people are allowed access for considerably more than the standard cheat costs. With such small numbers involved the chances of battleye getting a copy to reverse are extremely low. Then you've got the people smart enough to write their own who don't sell them.

Pain in the arse.

Half of the streamers don't interact with their chat whilst playing anyway, they'll pick the odd comment out of chat every so often, mostly it's calling out donations 24/7. Only time I see them actively look at their chat is when they are pinned and not sure where the shots are coming from which gives them an advantage over people who aren't streaming and have 20k+ people playing guardian angel for them.

We probably watch different streamers then. To be fair I watch people that sometimes stream PUBG rather than PUBG Streamers. Closest I get to that is Sacriel.

Same as every game community. Regardless there should be a need for proof rather than a streamers word. If all is needed is to call someone a stream sniper like in this case then we're going to have an awful lot of people banned for no reason.

I completely agree that there needs to be proof. My comment was more along the lines of people saying that streamers deserve to get stream sniped and that it's ok to do it. I just think that stream sniping is a scummy thing to do. Feel good that you got the drop on someone who's screen you can see but that can't see yours? Well done you, what an achievement!

I've watched some of Edberg playing & he does regularly keep chatting with viewers (part of ZF clan) & one or two others of them are okay, although one or two aren't (sure two got banned recently for some blatant TKing).

You sure are up to scratch with the hack scene. jk :D

Nah, as I say it is far from epidemic, two or three dodgepots in **** knows how many hours; games amazing.

I am confident our Mr Green will keep our game as clean as possible, with him being so serious about team killers. I would not be surprised if he came up with a unique counter.

They are an annoyance at worst. From my experience 99% of them still get rekt non stop even with their hacks and believe anyone super good is simply hack using. (Ah the deluded world of the cheater. All highly driven FPS players have been there.)

Be good when this video playback thing comes in, for peace of mind like.

those would be in such small numbers chances of running into one would be minimal IMO

I agree with that. It's sad, never really understood why people do it.

Very true. I think it's a rather small number of cheaters anyway. Hopefully when replay comes out it will be easier to see who's really cheating.

Currently working on a project(not a cheat) and tried making my own anti cheat when R6 was plagued by cheaters so I am rather up to date on it :D.

I've only come across maybe 3 in 500 games. One was a blatant macro/aimbot another was an aimbot third was just really suspect how he kept aiming at just the right window each time we peeked.

Regarding the current ban process

Hi everyone.

First of all, as the lead community manager, I apologize for not addressing the recent issues earlier.

For team-killing and stream sniping, we require evidence to be submitted as with all reports against players. We do not ban players based on what we see on social media or streaming platforms ourselves. We ask players to submit reports with evidence on our forums which is a temporary measure. We take action when the evidence is sufficient to warrant a ban.

The current rules and ban process are not final. Our community team is doing the best to ban users that do not play fair or ruin the experience of others. However, we do not have a perfect system. So our appeals system was put in place to ensure that there are checks and balances regarding all and any bans, and to allow us to rectify any mistakes that may have been made. Recently, I have realized that this may not be enough.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the current system. We don't have an automated system to ban players who violate our Rules of Conduct yet. But in the future, our team will work with the engineering & platform team to implement tools and systems to effectively address the issues that could ruin anyone's experience in the game. We're currently designing the new systems.

If a ban has been issued incorrectly, we will admit our mistake and lift the ban. However, it may take some time for us if there is no evidence to prove the banned user's point. We need to make sure by looking into in-game data.

I apologize again if you have been frustrated with recent events or lack of communication. But it is our best interest to improve current systems to create a better environment for everyone and better serve our community.

I wouldn't say they deserve to get stream sniped but when they are using their fan base to assist them while they are streaming (spotting for them, asking if anyone knows does that player I just killed have decent loot etc) then they can't really complain when it does happen. You can't use your stream to your advantage then complain when someone uses that same stream against you.

So a streamer cries and gets killed because of his own stupidity, the killer gets a 7 day ban - but hey, we make mistakes and you can appeal it - might take some time though.... probably about 7 days!

The cosmetics over performance/stability/ability to rejoin when any number of random crashes is an insult, then banning friends that tk'ed, banning people who report TK'ers gets you banned if you kill the person that ruined your group.

I like this game, but they seriously need to get **** in order

While I do sort of agree I think it depends how he/she expects their viewers to know that stuff. If they only know it by watching his stream they don't have any extra info that he doesn't have. A similar effect could be achieved by having a friend (or 2) sat with you watching you play, except having people in the room that can talk to you will be much easier. If the viewers have some other way of spotting and stuff then yeah, this makes it worse.
In my opinion, being able to see someone else's screen and possibly hearing them talk about what they're going to do provides more of an advantage as it's not something you'd get by only seeing your own screen, if if you had 20 friends in the room helping.

How in the hell is anyone supposed to know if the person they just killed has good loot without looting them?

Also the chat is usually being spammed with stupid messages. I'd be surprised that they would even bother looking at it unless they had good cover.

I do think though it's impossible to determine stream sniping so there is no way that guy should have been banned. Unless he was following the streamer or tracking him when he couldn't see him on screen. The streamer made weird movements or something and the other guy did the exact same shortly after.

Again even then it would be difficult to prove. Also matchmaking is random so how could you do it unless you spotted there name. Knew they were a streamer then used a second screen to load their stream up. I'm sure it happens but difficult to prove

I've logged 45 hours now and still loving this. Although I do like the idea of "scenarios" - things like the only weapon spawns are shotguns. It would mix the game up a bit as much as new maps in my opinion.

I will jump onto the overclockers discord this evening. I have played a fair bit of duo with a buddy and prefer it to Solo. I am not too good in 1 v1 firefight yet, but getting there.

Steam Name Fake_Genius (it might be two underscores - icon is Wheatley from Portal)

Solo in squads is pretty fun, this is the best result so far:

I tried the same thing recently... solo in squads. Found a VSS and became a silent assassin sniping from 250m. Great fun. Made it to the last 16 or something, 5 kills, and then I was just too much to handle!

How in the hell is anyone supposed to know if the person they just killed has good loot without looting them?
easy - some of the guys watching the stream are also in the same game. even read on reddit (i think) about fans joining the games and acting as mule ponies. basically looting and then allowing themselves to be sacrificial lambs for their chosen streamer.
