PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

I like first person (more than I thought I would). Deaths feel more like you lost a stand up fight or just got caught making a mistake rather than being one-shotted by an all-seeing opponent who comes barrelling into a room or round a rock knowing exactly where you are!

Sound becomes much more important too.

I'm still terrible at the game but it feels a bit more of a level playing field somehow.

First person is the only way to play now, get the level a bit higher and it'll be near perfect. I don't get annoyed being killed anymore as it's mostly my fault rather than some-one bending the screen round corners better than I can.

What is your full settings and resolution then please? would be interesting to know thanks.

I am running max everything on 1440P res Screen. 60 FPS constant in open world and when flying in , Drops to around 50 in houses oddly but so much smoother than before, The game even looks better I think. The grass looks more real.

is it me or have the graphics improved last week or two ? can't put my hand on it but everything just looks better to me ?

didn't read anything in patch notes about any improvements

Yes it is defo better looking ! I notice these things all the time and games and I was like wow so much more detail , there is diffidently more details around the world from the Grass to Trees than before , The grass moves in the wind really nice and seems to blend in very nicely now , the world is coming together very nicely , even the shadows and flairs you get of water look really nice. I will have to take some screen shots because its looking very nice now on ultra.

How do you mean? I've got points shown when I died for playing FP as usual TP - do you mean they weren't being saved?

Was a known bug when first released not sure if it was fixed, guessing if you were shown points you got them though? Bug was literally causing 0 points to be recorded even for a win

Having a hard time figuring out where I'm being hit from :(

One thing that has helped me is understanding when you're being shot you here two sounds, an initial crack from where it's being shot and a second sound of the bullet hitting near you or passing you. The first sound is the important one, as it's from the shooters position.

Is that right? I thought with a supersonic bullet you'd hear the bullet land before you heard the sound of the shot?

Might be the case, but there is definitely two sounds, one near you from the bullet passing and the other that is from the guy shooting at you, if you can concentrate on the further away sound and not the one near you you get a better idea of the opponents direction.

Yes as I understood it was the second sound that is the one to pay attention to as that's where the **** came from.

I haven't had a chance to play 1st person mode yet, and sure I think it will be great.

But I don't understand the gripe agains the 3rd person camera. Yes your opponent can use it. But so can you. So.. level playing field?

Amen - so much illogical moaning about it.

Exactly... give it time and people will find something to moan about / blame every loss in 1st person on as well... at the end of the day though if people are enjoying the game let them believe whatever they want and ignore the crying...

Having had a chance to play 1st person I think it works pretty well - doubt I will exclusively switch to it but it's good to have a bit of variety in play-style; after a few rounds of 3rd person it can be a welcome way to switch things up :)
