PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Fair enough but have these people never played arma or any of its mods ? the gameplay is more or less the same only with worse graphics, worse map, worse movement/animations etc

Literally the only positive thing i can say about it is that the buildings have interiors.

£27.99 is just insanity, that's what slick, ultra polished tripple A games cost... not amateur stuff like this. Still, if people are buying it at that price then fair enough i guess. It's worth maybe £7-10 imo.

We have a rather large clan.... We were founded on Battlefield 3.... Brought together on Arma, so yes.... their combined played time for Arma 2/3 is more than you could hope to play in a life time haha. Without being condescending.

The game play is similar, but its the quickness to join a game and meet up with mates without falling through a ladder or getting 2k sniped by high spec is enjoyable. Simplistic straight forward co-op gaming play... this is why CS has been so successful... Decent reg and solid team work trumps all graphics and poor performance.... And on poor performance i have to disagree, granted some have had issues, but none that they're regretted buying.

Also one of the lads said tonight, it kind feels like L4D shooting and co-op play.... i'd agree.

minus falling through floors, waiting for servers to fill up, quick and easy server join rather than spam enter and hope you get a slot.... You know i'm right!

Please point me to a real AAA that you're talking about?

I'd rather a dodgy dave knock off with basic functions that a polished turd!

Is it tho.... I've done 14 hours and can honestly say its been absolutely fantastic... few guys i've not played with since arma 2 have been teaming up and i've had that awesome feeling i've not felt in a while.... So if i stopped tomorrow its still one of the best £2 an hour i've spend... Which when i'm bored will pick up time and time again!

ROLL ON THE WORKSHOP!!!!!

Sold a CSgo skin for £28 - bought this.

So for me it's a no brainer - it's everything that I wanted from H1Z1 without the massively complicated, over the top realism of Arma..........

You'd swear blind people want this over complicated graphical master piece of a game with no guts to it.... I'd rather log on, bottle of beer, jump in with a bro and hunt down nubs and be in some dodgy spot running across field saying "this was a bad idea". haha

Played for 34 hours now and loving it. Already have my moneys worth.

On another note, has anyone experienced weird black corruption? It is worse since I updated to the most recent drivers. This is a really extreme example.

Awww man came 3rd! saw the last 2 guys alive in Duo mode - but we was unlucky with drops and didn't get any decent scopes :( got sniped.

Just ballsed up in the most spectacular fashion, got to the final zone as a single in duo's, and what I thought was a backpack was actually another player. What was even funnier is I knew there was a massive risk as it was a single room thing with a running van parked outside! I went in expecting somebody to be there and absentmindedly started trying to loot another player lol.

I think its fair to say he was quite confused in the 3 secs before he shot my face.

Hmm, not seen anything like that, although to be fair I'm not on the latest drivers, I tend to always be one driver version behind

Lol, I had a situation yesterday where I ran into a house and bounded up the stairs, as I ran up, a guy was running down and we both just bumped into each other and jostled for what seemed like about 2 mins with the collision detection..trying to work out why neither of us could continue to move on the stairs before we both realised there was an enemy in front of us and opened up in a hail of gunfire.

that's extreme but I get some of that in the bottom left corner of my screen. I am running this on a 290X so it's struggling a bit.

Im with ya. Just started myself so basically so this is how i do it - yup leap out of the plane. Dont leave first unless you want to be in a pvp fest, thats for later. Let it go a bit and then jump, aim for a group of buildings and land.

Check for other parachutes. Anyone landing closeby is going to be your first problem. Sprint into the nearest building and get a gun. Any gun. Stop for a second and listen for footsteps. If nothing, start collecting gear. Priorities are a long gun for assault (like an M16 or AK), a close gun for defense (shotgun or uzi), a backpack, first aid gear (and energy drinks), a helmet and some kind of vest. Youve got a couple of minutes.

Check your map. The big white circle is where you need to be where the countdown finishes. Youll see notifications for it, telling you how long you got. Eventually youll see a big blue circle shrinking towards the white. If youre caught by the big blue circle youll start losing health. Its a shimmering forcefield that pretty obvious. Get into the white circle to stay alive. Theres also red circles that appear every now and then - thats a bombardment. Ive been caught in a couple inside buildings and havent been killed yet, so id say get into a building.

Of course everyone else is heading to the white circle. Lots will die. Once in the white circle, it will shrink to about half the size and another countdown begins. Lots more wil die. Basically at each stage people will camp in the circles and kill anyone trying to get in. Eventually the circle will shrink to the point that the last two will be standing next to each other. At any point one person is left, yay they win.

Some quick tips - vehicles are bloody dangerous, they can be heard from miles off, avoid the roads if you have to use one and dont drive one up to a building. There are loads of mods for the guns, some make them more stable so worth keeping and collecting. A medkit will heal you to 75 percent but youll need energy drinks to heal you more. Bandages will heal you a bit and stop bleeding. The AK with a reddot sight is lovely. You will die lots. The opener before you get into the plane is useful for grabbing a gun and practicing shooting moving targets at a distance. CTRL-T switches off the in-game vox thank god. Get headshots everyone ive met seems to. Sound is king otherwise.

Got to say, its a blast.[/QUOTE

This needs a sticky. 10/10.

Tbh I agree with all the moan's with regards this game, they're all fair points, every night though something pulls me back in and there I am jumping out the plane, all in all it's about as crap as it is amazing, there's something addictive about it I can't say what cause I don't feel immersed in it like other game's make me feel. But when you finally win a round and you win it like a pro with 5+ kills that feeling is amazing, I think that's why we play, chasing that win.

it doesnt matter if we like it or not its if you like it is all that matters.i dont like some stuff about the game but i do like some things about it.i keep a eye on key sites for a cheap price :p
