PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

I wonder how many hackers there are that don't "rage" hack. You know the enemies you just thought were damn good.

Occasionally come up against people that just seem to know too much. Very few aimbots maybe 2 in my stupid amount of hours played.

If battleye is catching 12k a day you can bet there's another 12k that haven't been caught yet.

The "best" hackers (if thats not a contradiction in terms) are the ones who use just enough of a cheat to give themselves an advantage but not so much as to make themselves conspicuous

Exactly. How many are hacking 'smart' - the rage hackers and the kiddies who've just bought their first hack stand out a mile and are easy to spot and ban.
It's the smarter **** hackers who play it cool and don't run round headshotting everyone on the map that are the bigger issue.
I'd guess if battleye is catching 12k a day there'll be a *****sight more than 12k going undetected.

They banned 42,000 on the 22nd alone

I dunno pal, if they keep banning that many, they're bound to get ahead eventually...

All these online games have cheaters, there's sadly no sure fire way of preventing it.

I agree, but there's better ways of ensuring they don't manage to play for a few days and ruin everyone else's games before getting around to banning them. Plus making money off the crates to just buy another copy doesn't help.

I think if the drops from the game became locked and void once you get banned that might stop a fair few

Yeah I saw someone suggest they implement VAC too so their steam accounts suffer as a result.

Wouldnt it have to be a gameban, not sure if that can end up being to the same effect as vac but valve will not ban unless by special agreement like Rust does this ? I believe that can lock inventories partly.

I'd rather they have grading, shadowbans, queue sorting by reputation but that level of finesse isnt easy. Valve in the last year attempted to apply machine learning to datasets to determine likely offenders, some success mostly with the extreme aim assist types

IMO cheating will kill the game.

Nah, for an FPS they're doing a comparatively good job especially for Early Access and how popular the player base is. Of course they do can better, but it's not something that can be eradicated entirely.

What will kill the game is if they do not provide significant Network, Server and Client optimisations before a major competing BR title comes in. That deadline is becoming ever shorter.

"Fixed a Bug where Body armor wouldn't register bullets! WTF" HaHa I don't know if I should laugh or cry at this statement....... That is one massive C up.

Its not really as bad as you say, the actual wording is "Resolved a bug where bullets would sometimes ignore armour". So its not that the bullets don't register, its that the person wearing a ballistic vest got no benefit from doing so.

Recently I've been having a hard time enjoying squad mode with my buddies. Either I engage 1 enemy player to immediately have the rest of his team gun me down from multiple different angles, or I get 4-5 shots on someone and one of my team mates gets the kill. I'm all for team work but after a few kill steals it gets pretty frustrating. Anybody else feel the same way? I feel that duo is the best as you can play with a friend, easily coordinate attacks better with just two of you as well as shooting enemies, it's a lot easier to take down 2 guys instead of 4.

Kill stealing? Never thought of it like that - they've finished off someone who you've been shooting at because they're a present/future threat to you. It's a good thing any time someone who isn't in your squad gets taken down, no matter who did the 'removal'.

yeah only time i'll killsteal is if theyre going back behind cover and going to get revived, then it becomes a necessity.

Might aswell just play duos if theres only 2 of you though, unless you like the challenge of 4v2 which it sounds like you dont.
