PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

tbf when you watch competitive games, the last few circles still have an insane amount of players still alive. So when they are forced into smaller circles they are constantly calling out enemy positions, their own actions and where to push. It's hectic.
Oh I'm not knocking them, they won in spite of/probably actually because of all that information sharing. Impressive work.

Managed a 6 kill win in solo that's my best yet. Anyone else wish they would remove the damn bars off some of the windows I feel like the horizontal ones block like 80% of my shots.

Ah finally got a long over due win in the game, but got knocked out in the last 10 seconds and my team wasn't able to revive me in time due to the gas coming, came away with 2 kills, 1 roadkill midpoint in the game was fun.

That's kind of the point. You've just got to be conscious of the barrel of the gun rather than the aimpoint. We'd moan if it was too easy :D

I play at 1440p with a GTX 780 and get a solid 60 fps with vsync on, about 75 with vsync off.

Recently had terrible stuttering issues with the latest nvidia driver 388.13, went back to 388.00 which works fine.

Never seen anyone get over 100fps, the game just isn't that well optimised.

The game is probably at its worst state in recent months optimisations wise, but at 1080p 100fps is certainly attainable. I tend to average 100fps, some dips below but mostly above.

I'm expecting with 1.0 release for the game to run a fair bit better.

Can you game at 1440p 144hz using GTX 1070? I have steam voucher and I don't know if I should get this.

I've got a 1070 on 1440p with g-sync, maintain 50-60 fps with the main settings at medium. Not sure it matters but running on an old I7-2600K too, and the game is perfectly playable. One big performance boost recently was changing nvidia settings to set max performance over quality and changed power settings to max performance too. Made a big difference to in-game stuttering.

avg 120 fps on this rig every game.lowest is 80fps highest 144 but that is mainly on low for high fps and good visibility.

I cant help but feel its an oversight on the devs part. Its not like they provide cover for the person in the building it just prevents them from shooting out....

Exactly, that's a good thing. They have the cover of a house but the challenge of threading rounds through the bars. The people outside have no cover and the challenge of threading rounds through the bars!

Running my 6700k at stock at the moment, woukd I notice a difference in pubg if I overclock it?

I can't imagine it would hurt at all. Would be intrigued to know results.

Managed my first rage quit last night :(. Five games in a row I drop and get obliterated. Clearly wasn't my night :(.

I might give it a go later and see if I'm not wrecked after work.

I'm getting better lately as I'm getting more time with it, came 6th yesterday with 6 kills and 4th with 5 kills. Last stages I'm struggling with.

I really want to jump on some team games, I presume a mic is a must?

I enjoy single player but team games are so much better. A mic is certainly handy but I think you'll get by without one. You'll be able to hear your team-mates but obviously you'll have trouble pointing out enemy you see without a mic.
