PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

8700K @5.3 GHz and Titan-Xp. 2560x1440 / LTE internet. ;) But being on cell internet doesn't make a difference in other FPS I play. Also wouldn't explain why this freeze happens only when two of us are shooting each other at close range.

It definitely makes a difference when it comes to latency. It can be awful.
 
Don't know what they have done to the back-end or maybe a tiny client update but my game is running like complete garbage at the moment. Horrible micro stutter back when looting or fighting close range. Not had that since they allowed removing the character portrait rendering. It's really awful just now :(

They added an anti reverse engineering component to it in the last small patch. Causing a fair few issues for no gain sadly :(.
 
I've suffered from this since the first day I've played it. Doesn't seem to happen (regularly) to people I play with so it's hard to judge what causes it. After going through a host of things, I've settled on it being either a sound or asset streaming issue. GPU usage on second monitor shows it running normally right up until the point of "freeze" where it drops to 0% usage for a microsecond Nd then returning. It's always a firefight that triggers it for me, which is why I keep thinking it's a sound issue over other things...

Plain as day, go head to head with another player, start firing and I'm strafing left at 160 FPS, then the game just freezes for a second (seems like it drops to 0 FPS) like the game doesn't get any information from the server for that second or something and then I appear dead. This happens to me frequently when me and another player are shooting at each other close range.

Yes getting shot sometimes randomly lags the game which is so annoying, literally the worst possible time for it to happen.

That ~1 second glitch where the whole game just freezes, happens to me and I'm sitting at 160 FPS What the heck? It almost always gets me killed. It completely throws off your aim when it happens so you aren't putting shots on target for 2+ seconds = death and MASSIVELY frustrating.


Yes, this is nearly all one on one interactions for me; my system isn't cutting edge but it's fine for all other games. I've felt for a long time in fighting the game engine more than the other players.

Well, removed re-shade and put all settings down to very low and it still does that second freeze every single time I fight someone up-close. Game is trash.

Stop playing then.

Last couple of weeks youve had nothing to say about it other than how bad it is, surely just drop it till it gets patched?
 
Yup, I've noticed the cheaters have started to filter into Solo-FPP too. Was just driving down a hill in a vehicle at top speed and some dude one shots my head with a Kar98 from another hill 200 meters away. Like a one in a thousand shot.
 
Hahahah Vega go watch YouTube videos people pull off shots like that all the time..

It's really not hard.
But it should be. Some of those shots were very good, but just ridiculous. I don't think it should be a military sim with regards to the bullet phyics, but it should be more realistic than that vid suggests.
