PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

They need to release some dedicated server files for this game, then people can get some good UK servers up and running, and then server owners could chouse to run it on hardcore settings once added to game.

They will be, very close to full release date.

The lag isn't server issues, it's coding issues.

Once they have found and fixed the issue, then you will start to see an improvement.

Whilst there are deep-rooted core coding problems that need optimising, the current desync that has been getting progressively worse are mostly due to overpopulation of servers.

When the last monthly patch hit I think around April 20th, there was significant optimization - doors were opening instantly and there were no delayed shots at all due to the optimization then which in turn also brought a big FPS hike.

Peak users have increased from 100,000 to 140,000 since the 20th.

Play at very off-peak times on your usual region and you'll notice the difference in desync for sure.

finding the servers really laggy these past few days

also, what dpi mouse setting do you folks play on? i'm using an mx518 and have been using 1600dpi, trying it on 800dpi now instead to see if it improves my aim at all...

I'm on either 200 or 400 which seems obscenely low but works very well for me :)

I came to a batch of buildings I could see through mid game yesterday. Could see a guy walking about in one, so took a few shots and killed him. I could not get upstairs in the house to get his loot though and was juddering all the time in the house, which only seemed to render parts of door and window frames. So I left before I glitched through the floor or something.

you must be dragging the mouse half way across the desk to turn..? :p

Haha almost! To do a 360 is about one edge of a standard mouse mat to the other edge.

I can adjust sensitivity on the fly as my mouse has dedicated buttons to do so, so I often just ramp it up/down depending what I'm up to... i.e if it's CQB I'll go up to the next preset for sure. But mostly running out in the open or distant shooting I'll drop down to my lowest preset which is either 200 or 400. At work at the moment so can't doublecheck.

Picked this up today finally after floating over the buy button several times!

Had a few quick rounds and oh my god the suspense is real! And so is the learning lessons the hard way!

Thought I was safe in a house so checked my map while going upstairs to find a guy camping the stairs :D I assumed it was empty due to decent gear kicking around downstairs

Next game I was in a house and heard a shoot out just outside. Saw the winner looting the other guy so popped him, then another car pulled up and rushed the building, managed to get them too. Adrenaline was high

Few questions, obviously it's not too well optimised yet, what sort of settings should I go for? Not having much time to mess with them in game is a pain. It auto set to quite high but i knew it wouldn't run great due to what others had reported

Spec in sig

Matt

Thanks for heads up, gotta purchase today.

Bought this yesterday and in 3 games picked up 4 kills and one t10 finish :)

Still can't get the balance right of when to stick where I am and when to move though - always get shot in the back moving or in the face going into a building :(

Its a learning process. As you play more you'll find yourself gravitating to certain favourite jump spots and knowing how they are laid out. Whats happening now for you and any beginner, is you are crossing through high pop zones for the opening game and getting blasted by people who are already equipped and watching. You'll pick it up quickly.

I like the ruins, the school and a specific area of the military base. With the ruins I know I have to land in a certain spot to maximise my chances of getting weaponry, then if I move to another spot I get the best chance of picking off people foraging. With the school and military base its just a case of landing on the roof and trying to kill everyone, then running manically to try and find equipment whilst not dying.

Thanks for that, sounds logical. I'll give it a bit more of a look. Do people tend to venture as far as the extremities of the map even if the plane doesn't cross over them?

My best round yesterday was starting at the school, made it to the ground floor entrance first and ran in and got kitted quite well. Could hear lots of footsteps and gunshots but couldn't find anyone. Eventually found the sole survivor on the roof (amongst 6 lots of kit) and killed him for all Lvl3 kit & lots of loot. The school ended up being the centre of the circles but I made the mistake of assuming it would be safer to move away and moved to the apartments complex nearest. Did ok there and killed another chap but then ended up being forced to move to the school with the narrowing circle and got killed from behind (and possibly shot from the school too).

Haven't worked out how to spectate when killed yet mind, unless you can't on solo?

You can't spectate on solo.

I love landing apartments next to school and pray for an AR and a 2x+ scope and waiting for the school guys to finish looting and come over :D.

Is it worth buying considering that's early access/beta game?
100% yes.

it has it's faults/bugs/flaws - as to be expected in alpha and yes it can be laggy as hell and yes it can desync all over the place. but you will not play a game with more tension or heart racing moments in it, ever. and when you get that 1st solo chicken dinner you will have a minor (or possibly even a major) heart attack!

Had my first chicken dinner tonight, quite the buzz in my 4th game...will probably go 200 games now without a win it's that kind of game. Sometimes you just get lucky :)

Fun game indeed.

I heard this game had unique system where each time one hundred people are ready to play a new server is opened.
I do not know why though I presumed that would avoid things like overpopulation?
