I have found an alternative for anyone interested.

;) :p

just got hold of the pad this morning , first impressions are very good and its tiny .
i am liking this keyboard a lot ,main aspect for me is its not a hindrance when playing games.

also adds a bit of weight to the pad ,i think once you get the pad in your hands many people will change their opinion of it .

Pictures. I still don't really get how it attaches to the DS3/Sixaxis tbh. Does it actually connect to the USB port in the top? Which buttons on joypad get replaced/covered with the keypads buttons? (some shoulder buttons look like it from pictures).

From the pictures, it looks like it sits 'above' the controller somewhat, so the shoulder buttons aren't actually covered by it. Could be a bit cramped though.

I was under the impression that the keypad had its own battery and bluetooth receiver; it 'hooks' onto the PS3 pad, but can still be used as a separate device if you disconnected it. I also don't think it blocks any of the buttons, the bottom of it lies just above the L1 & R1 buttons.

[EDIT] Meh, either way, i should be receiving mine by Saturday so i'll know for certain then.

Aye, looks like it does indeed have its own power supply and bluetooth receiver. Just what i was after which is nice. Cheers for the pics!

snip incorrect use of tags :)

Cheers. What are the 2 shoulder buttons on the keypad for? Also is there a seperate Start, Select & Home button that rests on top of your controller ones, or are their holes for the existing ones to fit in?

Would be interested to see how this works over Bluetooth to a PC/Mac. (Does it just support Bluetooth Keyboard profile or Mouse as well?)

I don't plan on getting one, just curious.

shoulder buttons are like shift buttons on a normal keyboard ,not sure on pc/mac stuff

Has anyones been dispatched yet? Mines supposedly is on its way - dno which week Ill get it though :p...

EDIT: Just saw the pics above:

Liking the extra shortcut buttons for things like create message and that it definitely doesnt need to be connected to the pad. How does the thing charge tho?!?

With BT range it should be more than easy to use and put somewhere when not needed...

Cool - just couldnt see the port for it - you couldnt confirm what the shortcut keys near the PS button do and the ones on the side?

Did I see an '@' button? It really looks rather than just sticking a generic keyboard theyve actually thought what stuff could be useful (though Id love if there was a key modifier that allowed you to quickly chose .com or .co.uk in the browser)...

This and the new BT keypad basically means I dont need to use the on-screen keyboard - though got quite good at it :p
