PlayStation 4 Pro in-bound

I must admit I'm surprised more people aren't having issues with their hardware configurations.

The reason I haven't taken the plunge on the Pro despite having a 4k+HDR TV is simply down to my amplifier > no 4k/HDR passthrough + going through the TVs ARC removes surround sound so I'd only have stereo.

Are there not many people who use amps, or do those that do have sparkly new ones, or are some people not realising they're losing surround by going through ARC?

Has your amp not got an optical input?

I can have 5.1 with ARC from my TV but I use an optical lead for both Pro and One S.

I have the Yamaha RX-A1050 av receiver that has a 4k/HDR pass through that works on ARC with no issues at all. Well worth the money!

I'm optical out of tv into my hdmi 1.4 only amp. Amp was £600 last year reduced from more so not changing it.

Mine's that without the 4k passthrough and the extra rubber foot :) Half the price from Australian market. Best option because the DACS on it sound rubbish was to go optical > chord mojo > chord crimson analog phono > RX-V1073 Receiver. Was about to buy the RX-A1050 and the shop was like 'well for half the price you could just use optical for surround and you can buy that chord mojo you always wanted. I was sold :)

I would have the Pro but tbh in an ideal world I would like a PS4 Pro with an Xbox One controller..... :D

Okay, I agree with controller too. Everytime I put the PS4 pad on my sofa it presses R2 or L2, which isn't ideal when watching media or if you haven't paused Skyrim and clobber a Whiterun guard.

I'm going to Argos now... my logic is simply my TV has a v good upscaler in anyway, my PS4 gets much more gametime and I can save money for Microsofts true competitor to the Pro, Project Scorpio.

Thanks :)

I have no idea where my Amazon order is. It's being rescheduled, but looks like it didn't make it back to the depot and still isn't out for delivery. What a joke, I've complained and so far received 1 months Prime for free.

I popped in to Tesco this morning, they carry no stock of it in store and I have to order via Tesco Direct for next day delivery. At this rate I'm going to have to shell out the full £350 in order to play tonight and the weekend! Currys and Argos seem to be sticking to the £350, I guess I could walk in to Currys and ask them to price match. If it doesn't arrive by lunchtime today, I'll do that!

Very poor from Amazon.

That's what I did. Cost me more but knew it would never show up. Then I read today theses amazon drivers are on less than minimum wage and work illegal hours, not surprised it never came. Amazon prime has gone so down hill since they stopped using dpd, was always going to happen.

Having just bought an elite controller I see why :) - Them things are so darn smexeh!

You do know you can use the elite controller on the PS4 with a CronusMax adapter for example?

So far I've only played D3 for 2hours and 20min of Paragon as I haven't got anything else. The first impressions of Diablo 3, even though apparently not patched for anything, are very good. I am not sure if it's the TV alone (Samsung 49KS8000) or the PS4 pro doing the magic but it definitely does seem to look better on this setup than maxed out @1200P on PC - and that was on ultrasharp 27" IPS dell so colours there are nothing to sniff at either. The upscaling seems to work very well and everything is very smooth and non pixelated (sitting at only 5-6 feet away from "49 screen I can't see any sharp edges and I have 20/12 vision). The colours look great and the atmosphere just feels so much better than PC (colours are rich but everything is dark but clear and visible, just as the game is supposed to look) + the game just seems to play better. No FPS drops or performance issues that some people have reported on normal PS4.

I will get last of us re-mastered tomorrow, play some on the weekend and do a full review.

I know how you feel. Took me several calls to find out I hadn't been allocated a unit at all and would have to wait until the 18th.

OK Update.

**** You Amazon!!!!

Preordered on the 7th Spetember and I havent got a unit until the 18th November.

Cancelled and picked one up from Currys

Amazon offered me £5 voucher and +1 month Prime extension. What a joke.

Exactly, the service has gone down the pan. It's blatantly been stolen by the driver, not sure how they think they can get away with it. What makes things even worse is their customer support over the phone, which flags up on caller ID as the coming from Dublin, ha! Yeah right.

edit: What gets me is I cancelled my shopto order to go with Amazon as they are reliaible :p
